I am proud to be a part of making this happen. Canadian UAVs with Textron Systems have completed the flight demonstration for the RCN ISTAR UAS Program. Canadian UAVs and Textron Systems showcased the capabilities of the Aerosonde™ Mk 4.7 VTOL UAS, alongside our payload partners from Trillium Engineering, IMSAR, Overwatch Imaging and Persistent Systems. During the demonstration the Aerosonde™ Mk 4.7 VTOL UAS demonstrated full compliance to the evaluation criteria, highlighting system maturity, the aircraft’s modular architecture and ability to reconfigure for multiple missions in minutes. The Textron Systems Aerosonde Mk 4.7 VTOL UAS can get off the deck and on mission, with minimal impact to ship operations. Having logged over 650,000 hours of heavy fuel operations, the Aerosonde Mk 4.7 System is currently active on 7 US Navy ships (with 4 more coming in the New Year).
