Last week, Eileen Dautrich, President of the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, and Rod Martin, President of Martin Stone Quarries, Inc., presented a $10,000 check to Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center. “This donation is going to help out the welding program by purchasing a welding generator for the welding lab so that we can train students for the welding repair field and for welding out in the field on the job site. These welders are the heartbeat of the construction field. It will better prepare them to enter the workforce and add value to the students graduating from Western Montgomery CTC.” Thank you, Martin Stone Quarry, for your generous donation to the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. and for your continued support of the community. #tcaccbettertogether

It was so great talking with the women of TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce about some of what Taylor Swift can teach us. Very grateful they were willing to do a heart hands photo with me, too! What an incredibly smart group of women leaders! One person in attendance was Taylor’s Brownie troop leader from when she was a kid and said she was just as fierce and fun then as she is now. #taylorswift #teachingtaylorswift

What can Taylor Swift teach us? According to E. Michele Ramsey, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Communication Art & Sciences and Women's Gender & Sexuality Studies at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Berks, "when people listen to her [Taylor Swift], they hear their own stories." People will resonate with our brand and want to follow us/our message to the extent that we engage in rich storytelling that is relatable while reflecting trust and competence. Today the Sales & Marketing team at Frederick Living joined others from the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce for a Lunch seminar to learn about communications in pop culture and how it translates into use throughout the rest of the business world. Thanks to Alice Funk and the rest of her team for hosting such a great event.
