Trelson is getting a fresh look in just a few weeks! Everything you rely on today will still be there, but with an updated design that’s easier to use and feels more polished. Think of it as a makeover that keeps all the functionality you know and trust, in a better package. Why are we doing this? Because we want to make the experience of using Trelson even better, while also paving the way for new functionalities that are on the horizon. Next week, we’ll share all the details so you’ll know what to expect ahead of the update, which goes live in mid-December. We can’t wait to show you what’s coming. Unsurprisingly, we love hearing success stories where Trelson has played a key role in examinations. This one is particularly special, as it comes from one of our very first customers in the UK who helped us navigate exam requirements when we entered the market. Congratulations on your CAP exam success, great work!

Despite the emergence of AI services, it's still common for students to be allowed to use their computers "any way they want" in school. This creates unrest and disturbance in classrooms where students chat, play games, and hang out on social media. Additionally, teachers can't be sure what the students actually have learnt. Limiting what students can, and cannot, do on their computers is important and a prerequisite for developing both language and knowledge. For example, what happens to learning when students write in Google Docs? Did you know that students can press Ctrl+Alt+X and get both spelling and grammar suggestions while they write? And did you know that when a student writes and clicks on the tab key, suggestions for sentences automatically appear? A major advantage of having students working in Trelson is that the locked down environment helps the student focus on the task at hand. Without distractions from social media and games, the student must activate their thinking. In addition, the limitations that arise with restricted web access can stimulate the student's creativity and problem-solving skills. No matter how prepared and skilled a teacher is, Snap and TikTok are more appealing. So unfortunately, Trelson is needed. 

Last week, our Product Owner, Mimmi Berg, and Trelson specialist, Sara Bruun, had the chance to visit some schools in southern Sweden. At Wieselgrensskolan, they met with special education teachers, talking about how Trelson can help create a calmer classroom environment and better support students with different needs. They also stopped by Tågaborgsskolan to sit in on a couple of classes and chat with teachers and students. The visit resulted in two clear actions to improve how Trelson works for students. A big thank you to the schools and educators who welcomed us! These visits are so important for us to understand how Trelson Assessment is being used day-to-day and to get ideas on how we can make Trelson even better.
