🌟 Celebrating Lifelong Learning at El Paso Community College 🌟 We are incredibly proud of our President and CEO, Dr. Debra Chromy, who had the honor of addressing the graduates of El Paso Community College at their Fall Commencement Ceremony last week. 🎓 Dr. Chromy shared her inspiring personal journey of lifelong learning, encouraging graduates to embrace their unique paths. She emphasized that everyone's journey is different and that's what makes it special. Her powerful closing message resonated with all: "Life is meant to be lived.” Take risks, be adaptable, and do what makes you happy. In recognition of her contributions, Dr. Chromy was awarded an Honorary Associate’s of Arts Degree by the Board of Trustees at El Paso Community College. This honor also established the Dr. Debra Chromy Endowed Scholarship Fund, ensuring that future EPCC students will benefit from her legacy as a passionate advocate for higher education. In our Innovations in Assessment and Credentialing webinar, Katie Sievers highlights a pivotal shift: "Many higher ed institutions, especially community colleges, are starting to recognize the power of industry-recognized credentials—embedding these certifications into associate’s, bachelor’s, or other degree paths. Employers are moving away from degree requirements and focusing on specific credentials that explicitly reflect the competencies needed for particular roles."
