Over 850 active duty Marines and their families celebrated the season at Camp Pendleton, receiving more than 2,000 gifts! TMF teamed up with the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee and San Diego Spartans to make the Artillery Battalion’s Family & Holiday event unforgettable. On this day, 18 years ago, we remember the heroism of Spc. Andrew P. Daul, US Army. At just 21 years old, Andrew gave his life while serving in Iraq. He was known for his passion for bodybuilding and extreme sports like skiing and snowboarding, Andrew’s adventurous spirit was matched only by his selflessness. In his final moments, Andrew volunteered to cover a shift for a fellow soldier on the soldier’s birthday—a choice that saved a life and built a lifelong bond. Today, that soldier carries Andrew’s dog tags every day as a tribute to his sacrifice. Andrew’s sister, Lindsey Webb, continues to honor his legacy through her involvement with TMF. From completing two Marine Corps Marathon 10K Rucks to sharing Andrew’s story during #TheHonorProject and participating in our Spartan Leadership Summit, Lindsey ensures her brother’s memory inspires others to live with character and purpose.
