We have partnered with the National Cattlemen's Beef Association to investigate the relationship between lean meat intake and growth, body composition, and risk of obesity. Does the relationship change as we age? Does leanness of the meat matter? What's the impact on body weight if lean meat is consumed as pork, beef, or chicken? These are some of the questions we want to answer in our newest systematic review and meta-analysis, recently registered on PROSPERO. We will be taking a page out of the USDA's book and adapting their "Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review" (NESR) protocols for other foods on the same topic. The aim is to replicate the same methods the USDA uses to arrive at a similar conclusion they would, if they were reviewing this topic (they aren't).
