We are a very competitive family! We have high energy, lots of intensity and a tad crazy when we are playing any game….from sports, trivia, board games…. ANYTHING! There is no “it’s JUST a game” for our family and we never ever have LET them win! Why? Kids excel when expectations are high. When competing as equals kids often out-perform parents’ expectations of them. We let therm make their own decisions in a game, they begin to form their own strategies and tactics based on observation, trial and error. They will figure out why they lost and make the necessary adjustments! Failing throughout their life is a given. Life is hard. They need to know how to handle that. And no I’m not a believer in everyone gets a trophy mentality. 😬
