Congratulations to Felicity Sarnoff on being named the Liberal Arts college marshal for Penn State's Fall 2024 Commencement! Student marshals are chosen based on outstanding academic achievement and contributions to Liberal Arts student life. Felicity spoke about their experience at the Writing Center as a contributing factor for their success, telling Penn State Today, “Being a writing tutor was a very impactful experience for my professional and academic development...It allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills and pedagogical philosophy by getting one-on-one tutoring experience with international students as well as domestic students.” Read more about their achievement at https://lnkd.in/giArkux5

About us
The Writing Center @ Penn State Learning aims to promote engaging conversations and writing support for undergraduate students at Penn State, University Park Campus. The Writing Center @ Penn State Learning seeks to support writers beyond the boundaries of the classroom, encouraging them to think critically about writing as an extension of their choices, thoughts, and identity. In addition, we aim to assist instructors in research and practice in supporting the development of confident writers. As such, we value diversity in student voices, experiences, and perspectives, along with the linguistic differences they bring to their writing. We aspire, through theory and practice, to make the collaborative practice of writing accessible and free of discrimination.
