Introducing Venture Highlights! Each week, we'll feature one (or more!) venture at the Impact Studio that's blown our minds. First up is The SunBundle (https://thesunbundle.com) founded by Yasmine Mansi, a nonprofit aiming to maximize donations of unused athletic equipment to those in need. Their successes recently earned them a feature on WDIV! See their TV feature here: https://lnkd.in/gEADf5GW

September Recap🍂🍁: This month was a big step forward for SunBundle’s engagement with the campus community at the University of Michigan. We had the chance to table at Festifall and the Student-Athlete Activities Fair, boosting our club sign-ups from 30 to 127 students. We're excited to welcome our new members and collaborate as we grow! A special thanks to the Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning for connecting us with new outreach partners: The Konnection, Community Action Network (CAN) of Ann Arbor, and the Redford Brightmoor Initiative. We’re eager to enhance our outreach efforts and promote sport and fitness for communities in need. We also kicked off the semester with an ice cream social, and also had our first fundraiser—a spikeball tournament in collaboration with the Muslim Fitness Club (MFC). Here’s to a great fall ahead! #Community #Outreach #Fitness

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County ! By connecting with Dawn Gemler, Development Specialist of the Delonis Center, we learned of the critical need for podiatry and hygiene products among their clients, particularly during challenging winter months when many face foot-related medical issues. This partnership with The Shelter Association allows us to make a meaningful impact by providing essential resources and support where it's needed most. Together, we are working towards better health and well-being for all.

Our mission: To empower athletics and foster wellness education within underserved communities.☀️ Whether that is a youth athlete who can't afford a pair of track spikes, or individuals looking to kickstart their fitness journeys, The SunBundle aims to serve communities in need. By providing items such as gently used sneakers, nutrition & workout resources, hygiene products, and jump ropes, The SunBundle educates and empowers communities involved. Additionally, the up-cycling of athletic gear keeps items out of landfills, improving our planet's sustainability.

Each year, the University of Michigan Athletic department honors student-athletes for their academic, athletic and community engagement efforts at The Maizies. The student athletes on The SunBundle’s executive board received the Let’s Go Do Award, an honor that recognizes above and beyond commitments to creating a positive impact through community service. We’d like to thank Colette Hemker DeHetre and Brian Townsend for the nomination, and congratulate Leah Doezema, Lucy Petee, Michael Hancock, & Yasmine Mansi for being recognized.

This past Sunday marked a significant milestone as we hosted our inaugural World Cup fundraiser, in collaboration with the Pashtun Cultural Association (PCA) at the University of Michigan. Together, we collected over $500 in donations, designated for our global initiative aimed at providing soccer balls and water bottles to a village in Pakistan. Thirteen teams joined the tournament, each proudly representing diverse cultural organizations on our campus. We had representation from England, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, Spain, Turkey, Yemen & three different teams representing the United States. Ultimately, it was Team Turkey that emerged victorious, claiming the title in a thrilling competition. We look forward to fostering further engagement within our campus community in future events!
