What a year it’s been serving on the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Bar Association! Reflecting on 2024, I’m so proud of what we accomplished together. This year, we opened the doors to our own building in downtown San Diego—turning an empty shell into a beautiful, welcoming space for attorneys to connect and thrive. Wrapping up this massive project was no easy feat, but it was worth every effort to create a central hub for our legal community. We also took on the critical task of searching for an Executive Director to lead the SDCBA into its next chapter. This was a defining moment for the organization, and I’m excited about the direction we’re heading as we work to strengthen our incredible legal community. Of course, this year wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership of our President, Stacey Kartchner. She steered the SDCBA through a year full of challenges, balancing big transitions and complex decisions. Her perseverance through it all was admirable, and the Board’s accomplishments this year reflect the commitment and dedication of everyone involved. One thing I’ll carry with me from this experience is a deep appreciation for the people who make the San Diego legal community so remarkable. From lawyers and judges to the team behind the scenes, it’s clear we’re surrounded by individuals who care deeply about the future of our profession. I’m grateful for the friendships I’ve made, the laughs we’ve shared, and the hard work we’ve tackled together. Here’s to what’s next for the SDCBA and this incredible community!
