Unwitting individuals may invest in such charlatan games, perhaps centered around a new #cryptocurrency, attracted by the rise of bitcoin and the FOMO they undoubtedly experience. When the scammer dumps their position, the investments likely become worthless. Mitigating risk is a key element in cybersecurity. Safeguarding oneself in the above scenarios is akin to practicing proper #cyberhygiene. Here are a few tips to avoid these pitfalls:👇👇👇 👉 Stop, pause and question any opportunity that appears "too good to be true"-as the adage goes-since it probably is! Do your homework and make sure to protect your assets with the proper #security protocols. 👉 Only deal with reputable people that you can trust when investing and making finacial decisions. A friend of your dentist's brother's ex-wife's son who is the top investor in the space is not a person you should tender your cryptowallet to. This also applies to recommendations you may receive from others regarding wallets and exchanges. 👉 Educate yourself as you would in training scenarios. Take proactive cybersecurity measures. Get up to speed on the latest phishing scams. Be extra cautious of unsolicited emails, SMS, social media DMs inviting you into exciting crypto deals and investments.
