Maintain the integrity of your vessel with The American P&I Club's Loss Prevention Poster, "Are Your Hatches Tight?" This vivid comic-style illustration serves as a critical reminder of the necessity of hold and hatch cover maintenance. Water is seeping through the tank tops, and sunlight is piercing through the hatch covers; meanwhile, above deck, a crew member asks for more Ram-Nek tape to seal the hatches, another has his foot caught in a hole, and a hose test is in progress. The scene depicts common challenges faced in relation to hold integrity. Preventing leakages into the holds is paramount for ship and cargo safety. Regular inspections and upkeep aren't just advisable - they're essential for keeping cargo, ship, and crew safe. Available in English, Spanish, Traditional, and New Mandarin on the Club’s Loss Prevention page: https://lnkd.in/gYhZAbs #LossPrevention #SeafarerSafety #MaritimeSafety #Americanpandi #EO_Marine #ShipMaintenance #HatchIntegrity

Components of machinery and electrical circuits can cause fires onboard vessels, especially when they become overheated or where fuel or oil leak or spray onto hot surfaces. Moreover, the potential for electrical fires is exacerbated by the multitude of electrical connections onboard a vessel, many of which cannot be easily monitored during routine inspections. The Managers of The American P&I Club and Eagle Ocean Marine highlight the value in using thermal imaging inspections to detect early signs of heat caused by electrical faults which may develop into fires in the Club's recent Member Alert: https://lnkd.in/eKJ7kaCz #thermal #imaging #inspections #fire #prevention #lossprevention #americanpandi #memberalert
