About us
As short-term rental owners and operators for 10 years and counting, Sarah and Annette founded the Thanks For Visiting podcast and their online educational platform to bring their diverse knowledge to hosts ready to grow their businesses. Sarah and Annette met at a Columbus, Ohio City Council Meeting fighting for their right to host homes on a short-term rental basis. The two shared a belief that the short-term rental industry needs hosts to be more hospitable. Every resource they’d come across in growing their own businesses was purely profit-driven, and “heads in beds” just isn’t their style. They had to figure out a lot of stuff on their own and now they want to give you the behind-the-scenes look they tried to find when they started. Thanks For Visiting is like Hospitality Prep School for the short-term rental host. Sarah and Annette help you host with heart and improve your processes and systems all while generating insane profits and building long-term wealth.

Our listener Samantha from @coopsvacationrentals asked a GREAT question this week! She's considering a PMS software for direct bookings but is concerned about Airbnb's host fee increasing from 3% to 15%. Since 95% of their bookings come from Airbnb, she worries about the impact on their listings. She is exploring alternatives like syncing the PMS with Vrbo and other OTAs but not Airbnb or creating a direct booking site through Squarespace without a PMS. So... are direct booking sites worth it? Tune into today's episode for our advice!
