“The foundation models that led to the creation of ChatGPT relied significantly on, effectively, trillions of tokens worth of data that was freely available on the internet, on language, on videos, on images, and so forth. That data does not exist in robotics,” Vinay Shet, Co-founder and CEO of Teleo, told TechCrunch. “The best dataset that we know of in the robotics world is about 2.4 million tokens, whereas in the language world, they train it on trillions of tokens.” At Teleo, our vision is bigger than automating heavy equipment. We're building the foundation to unlock the power of AI in the physical world.

This Veterans Day, we honor the courage and sacrifice of those who have served. Today, we’re excited to share a new pilot initiative to create meaningful career opportunities for veterans living with disabilities. Together with our partners — John Deere, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte, RDO Equipment Co., and Knife River Corporation — we’re launching a program to provide accessible operator jobs to two veterans with disabilities in Bozeman, Montana. They will each operate a John Deere 944K loader from the safety and comfort of Teleo’s remote command center. Our shared goal is simple: to harness cutting-edge technology to provide accessible, impactful jobs for those who’ve given us so much. We’re proud to stand alongside our partners in this mission and look forward to training and supporting these veterans as they embark on a new career at Knife River. These jobs are officially open! Watch the video to learn more about this pilot program and reach out at jobs.kniferiver.com to apply. To all veterans: We thank you for your service. Your strength inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. #veteransday #accessibility #accessiblecareers

Having a great week with our mining and aggregate customers at the Southeast Mine Safety and Health Conference. Teleo and Dobbs Positioning Solutions have been demonstrating the safety and efficiency gains created by using Teleo autonomy. Take a look for a quick spin in an autonomous loader operated from 2300 miles away. #minesafety #minehealth #constructiontechnology #constructionautonomy #dobbspositioningsolutions #teleo

We had a blast at #UPSummit this year! We showcased a customer’s operator supervising three autonomous articulated dump trucks doing live production in Naples, FL from the show in Bentonville, AR. And he supervised four additional autonomous machines (in Arkansas and California) for a total of seven across three sites. He did an amazing job! Teleo Co-founder and CEO, Vinay Shet, spoke about how Teleo is addressing today’s labor shortage with supervised autonomy, and how we’ve expanded into more industries and doubled our machine orders in the last year. Thanks for having us, UP.Partners, and thanks for the demo support AlffCo, Ozark Laser, Bell Trucks America, and Tomahawk Construction. #supervisedautonomy #heavyequipment

We're excited to announce that we've expanded into more industries! Having a universal, machine-agnostic solution means that Teleo can be applied to a broad array of industries — not just construction and mining. Today, we're announcing that Teleo has 34 new machine orders from 9 new customers across pulp and paper, logging, port logistics, munition clearing, and more. We're currently working in a total of 10 industries. This is just the beginning of our expansion into more industries. Our unique combination of a universal solution and humans supervising autonomy means we can revolutionize any industry that uses ground machines to move any material. Shoutout to our customers who taught us about many more applications of our technology. “If at any given point in time an operator is not available, some other operator somewhere else, in a different plant of theirs, can operate the machine no matter where they’re located.” Hear more about how Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC is leveraging supervised autonomy from Vinay Shet, our Co-founder and CEO. Thanks for inviting us on the show, The Road to Autonomy®!
Supervised Autonomy Solves Labor Shortages and Boosts Safety Vinay Shet, Co-Founder & CEO of Teleo joined Grayson Brulte on Autonomy Insights to share his perspective on why Teleo partnered with construction companies Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC and Tomahawk Construction in Florida to deploy supervised autonomy. With Teleo Supervised Autonomy, Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC is proud to be the world's first to remotely load an asphalt plant. Teleo traveled to Venice, Florida to meet with their team to get a better understanding of their business so we could build a solution to fit the needs of asphalt producers. With Teleo solutions now on their fleet, they expect to see improvements for the business’ bottom line, as well as for the team members' well-being who are integral for pushing the business forward. Maintenance costs can decrease as they’re able to be more efficient with machine use. They can expand their hiring pool and remain flexible when someone calls in sick. Operators (even those with minimal technology experience) are able to learn it within 20-25 minutes, making for a smooth transition to a new tool that’s ushering in the future for the heavy equipment industry In honor of #MentalHealthAwareness month, “Teleo can improve the mental wellbeing and physical wellbeing of our operators. It’s a very stressful job. I think if you take a lot of the physical aspects out of it, it helps the mental state of our operators” says Andy DeCraene, EVP of Operations. Meet Max. He’s the first heavy equipment operator in the world to run multiple articulated dump trucks (ADTs) at once. He does this while sitting comfortably in Fort Myers, Florida while the ADTs are on the job site 40 miles away in Naples, Florida. This is because Tomahawk Construction recently became the first customer to install Teleo Supervised Autonomy, unlocking autonomous and remote-operated capabilities on their machines. While the machines are set to autonomous mode, they can perform routine and repetitive tasks on their own. When needed, Max can take over to handle more complex tasks remotely and easily switch between machines at the tap of a button. What does that mean for Tomahawk Construction? A solution to the labor shortage that typically means spiraling project costs and timelines. “Ever since we have installed Teleo units on the trucks, we haven't had one sitting,” noted Lyons. “It lets us expand who we would typically hire for a haul truck. So today we'll see one operator per three trucks.” Watch the video to see how Teleo is changing the game for the heavy equipment industry. #supervisedautonomy #articulateddumptrucks #autonomy #construction https://lnkd.in/dxtzkr7P
