During my kids Spring Break this year, I was able to go see the Savannah Bananas at their home stadium. It was an amazing experience. But it starts from the top. Jesse Cole eats breathes fun. And it's contagious because every employee we dealt with does the same. Every business owner can learn a lot from him.
Owner of Savannah Bananas, Creator of Banana Ball, Author of Fans First & Find Your Yellow Tux, Keynote Speaker
We've learned to hire differently with the Savannah Bananas and it starts with what we ask for from a candidate and the language we use. This is a clip from a few years back, but the way we hire has not fundamentally changed. We still have a three step process. While most companies are interested in what you've done in the past, we are interested in what you want to do in the future. That's why the future resume is a huge for us, as well as the video cover letter and the fans first essay. In addition to how we hire, once you join us, we do not believe in training. We believe in coaching, teaching, mentoring and educating and not the typical language of training within our company. Dogs are trained, people are coached and are educated on the company and the culture. While this isn't traditional and the way we look at all language is not traditional, it works for us. The key is to find what's best for your culture. And we learn from doing. When we first started no one wanted to join our company. But fortunately now we have a waitlist to work with us that has passed 6,000 people. That number still blows me away, but I've learned it's a lot easier to attract people than recruit people. So we scream from the mountaintops who we are, what we stand for and what we believe in. We are fortunate that has led us to keep bringing on amazing people who want to keep making an impact and pursuing our mission to be fans first and bring people together all over the world.

The interview process is a time for the company to evaluate a candidate AND a candidate to evaluate the company. Here are some good questions to ask a company you are interviewing with.
