🎉 Today at Acadia Infrastructure Capital we are announcing a new Coalition, anchored by Microsoft, to unlock billions of dollars in renewable energy investments and uplift communities across the U.S. The Climate and Communities Investment Coalition has already started putting capital to work, and we're excited to keep co-creating financing structures that accelerate renewable deployment while doing good for historically excluded communities. By pairing corporate capital with that of our investment partners, we strive to bring much-needed scale to community benefit programs that deliver lasting impact. This program has many partners to thank—especially Danielle Decatur and David S. representing the Microsoft team, Yinka N. Bode-George and the ever-inspiring folks at Sustain Our Future, and Jeremy Mohr + Jenny Carney, whose brains know no bounds (thanks for being both "thinkers" and "doers"). And of course, our full Acadia team, with continued leadership from Tim Short and coordination by Janet Turner, CFA. We're just getting started here—you'll hear more from us soon... https://lnkd.in/e8ntC989

  • Hey there, community! Our team is excited to share a fantastic step forward in advancing clean energy through environmental justice. Today, alongside our collaborators at Acadia Infrastructure Capital and Microsoft, we proudly launch the Climate and Communities Investment Coalition (CCIC)—an initiative to accelerate clean energy projects while creating tangible benefits for communities across the United States. The CCIC’s mission? To empower corporations to develop renewable energy projects that deliver a positive impact on both people and the planet. Over the next five years, the Coalition is projected to facilitate the construction of at least 5 GW of renewable energy projects—enough to power 850,000 homes annually and prevent 15 billion pounds of carbon emissions per year. But it doesn’t stop there. The CCIC is designed to deliver triple wins: ⚡ Clean energy to meet sustainability goals. 📈 Economic value for corporate members. 🤝🏾 Equitable benefits for communities through expanded access to sustainable infrastructure, economic inclusion, and organizational capacity building. As our CEO, Yinka N. Bode-George, shared, “The CCIC represents a powerful and collaborative commitment to confronting a legacy of environmental injustices while advancing clean energy solutions. Our team will help deliver meaningful, lasting benefits to community stakeholders.” Although this is just the beginning, the impact of this coalition is already taking shape. Last week, we announced the first project in Texas made possible through this collaboration! We look forward to welcoming more corporate members to scale this impact even further. Together, we are addressing systemic environmental injustices while paving the way for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future. ☀️ 🌍 To learn more, please visit: https://lnkd.in/e2pWK4-i #CleanEnergy #EnvironmentalJustice #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityImpact #ClimateAction

We have another exciting announcement to share before the year ends! Today, Sustain Our Future Foundation launches the Reparative Land Collective Grant Program to advance transformative land stewardship. 🌎🌱 ☀️ We are proud to announce our inaugural cohort of grantee partners for the Reparative Land Collective, a grant program created to support under-resourced land stewards, such as Black, Indigenous, Brown, other land stewards of color, and others, dedicated to ecosystem restoration and land justice. This first cohort includes 12 visionary organizations from across the U.S., each awarded for their leadership in land healing and agroecological goals. Alongside capital grants, these organizations will receive critical technical assistance such as legal advising, land assessments, permitting, and infrastructure planning to amplify their impact. The Reparative Land Collective embodies SOFF’s commitment to restoring humanity’s relationship with natural ecosystems through land ReMatriation, centering communities most affected by systemic injustices. As BlackTooEarth, one of our grantees, shares: “It’s time to reclaim land near communities most impacted by food deserts and Atlanta’s efforts to displace Black and Native folks. Through the Reparative Land Collective, we are working on a Southeast Atlanta land acquisition effort to challenge the city's decision to build Cop City, creating a community-centered space that promotes food sovereignty and ecological restoration.” We’re proud to stand in solidarity with these incredible partners, and we thank our community advisory board, composed of BIPOC-led organizations, for co-creating a vision for transformative land stewardship.
