It was great to attend the AGA #TTS24 conference yesterday and be nominated as a finalist for the team's work on the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service IDEAL project. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology (FCSM) Conference! It was an insightful experience discussing our modular approach to survey editing and imputation, developed in partnership with USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Additionally, the sessions provided valuable insights into the latest challenges and advancements in statistical methodologies across the public sector. Key takeaways -- 1. Many agencies are grappling with the challenge of missing data, a common barrier to drawing accurate insights from surveys and datasets. 2. There are multiple strategies to address missing data, each with its own strengths and limitations. Choosing the best approach depends on the specific data context and goals of each agency. New case study alert: The Summit Consulting, LLC team recently completed an #evaluation for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Chief Evaluation Office, which sought guidance on how to design and implement an unemployment insurance (UI) program for the territory of Guam. The team conducted a detailed analysis of existing UI programs in other U.S. territories and states, performed cost-benefit modeling, and assessed the administrative feasibility of each option.
