My family is rich with veterans. Dad was an MP in the Army. My brother was drafted during one of the most tumultuous times in our history, and he served honorably. I have cousins and nephews who have served in branches ranging from Air Force to Marines. Additionally, I've been incredibly fortunate to have hired and worked side by side with veterans. Veterans are special in so many ways imaginable. We should hire them. We should celebrate them. We should support them. Most of all, we should honor them. They protect us when no one else will, no matter what, no matter, when, and no matter where. And when they leave the service, we should return the favor. #VeteransDay

Excited to be attending the Dental Trade Alliance annual meeting in Napa next week. This can be a heavy lift for a boutique consulting firm like Strategic Dental Consulting (we don't have the expense budgets that most of the attendees have), but given the opportunity to network with the leadership of the dental industry, see so many colleagues and friends from over three decades in the biz, and make new connections and friendships along the way, it's well worth the investment. It also makes me a better consultant for my existing clients: by elbowing up alongside industry leadership, I can glean the unfiltered, honest and raw insights that will ultimately result in my firm producing higher quality work and useful guidance. Certainly won't be as warm as it was last year when the meeting took place in Florida, but let's face it, Napa in November is pretty spectacular too. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Here's your initial checklist: ✅Review 2024, both internally and externally: are we hitting the marks (KPIs), growing ahead of rising water (taking share), and is the team properly equipped (resource allocation)? ✅Set the course for 2025: do we know what "good" needs to look like in the future? What about GREAT? Can we see it and articulate it into an actual operating plan? What are the metrics? What is required? Do we have the right team in place to do it? Companies looking to grow above market almost never have ALL the internal resources they need to get the job done.
