Last month, members of the SGS team had the opportunity to attend One Aim Illinois' second annual fundraiser, celebrating decades of history, honoring pillars of their movement and fundraising for gun violence prevention efforts in Illinois. Stomping Ground Strategies supports One Aim Illinois as they position themselves as a leading voice in the work to end gun violence by utilizing statewide public education campaigns, building coalitions and advocacy for common-sense gun violence solutions in Illinois. Stomping Ground Strategies won two awards last night at the Publicity Club of Chicago’s Golden Trumpet Awards for our crisis communications and public affairs work. We’re particularly proud of the crisis communications award, as that work was entirely Latino/a/e focused — on new arrivals, families who’ve been here for generations, and an elected leader carrying the community through a divisive time in Chicago’s history.
