In the face of escalating climate challenges and evolving regulations, sustainability leaders are under pressure to set and achieve decarbonization goals. Life cycle assessment (LCA) can help organizations deliver on their climate commitments and meet their carbon reduction targets. LCA provides a detailed framework for understanding a product’s environmental impacts across its lifespan — from raw material extraction to disposal. This enables businesses to identify emission hotspots and uncover opportunities for product-level improvements. Read our new blog for insights into LCA’s essential role in advancing decarbonization: https://bit.ly/3OviAyA #Sustainability #LCA #ProductSustainability

During the second week of COP29, parties attempted to reach an agreement on how to assist developing nations in adapting to and mitigating climate change. While financing specifics were slow to come, the conference did end with a pledge from wealthy nations to reach $300 billion per year in support by 2035. Additionally, the conference did highlight some advances by participating countries. Some of the areas in which progress was made are regulation of methane emissions, lower fossil fuel subsidies and transparent climate reporting. The EU’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) is now in force, creating due diligence responsibilities for certain companies doing business in the EU. Companies that are in scope are required to have a sustainability due diligence policy. In addition, they must manage and mitigate adverse environmental and human rights impacts across their operations and value chain. Once the CSDDD is fully implemented, companies will face increased scrutiny from a wide range of stakeholders. Good preparation, enhanced visibility into their operations and supply chains, data-based decision-making and strategic partnerships will be key for compliance with the directive. Read this blog to learn more about key requirements and how in-scope companies can start preparing for the directive’s core obligations: https://bit.ly/3ZeU376 #Sustainability #CSDDD #RegulatoryCompliance
