About us
Empowering innovation through strategic mentorship, tailored resources, world-class education and collaborative partnerships, the Southeast Regional Center for Entrepreneurship (SRCE) is dedicated to catalyzing the growth of entrepreneurial business ventures, fostering a culture of creativity and inclusion, creating generational wealth, and driving positive impact in the ever-evolving landscape of entrepreneurship. The Southeast Regional Center for Entrepreneurship (SRCE) is a proud part of the Howard University x PNC Foundation’s National Center for Entrepreneurship. The SRCE represents and works with 28 HBCUs in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and the U.S. Virgin Islands to essentially connect entrepreneurial centers, academic programs, business owners, and governmental entrepreneurial stakeholders, to empower entrepreneurs throughout our region. Located within the historic School of Business at Clark Atlanta University, it is SRCE’s goal to educate, inform, assist, and empower Black entrepreneurs in the entrepreneurial ecosystem through research, technology, programming, strategic partnerships and fundraising. We are elated to be working with the local and regional representatives of the PNC Foundation, who have given much more than financial support in our quest for equity and access for Black entrepreneurs.

Black women athletes are not just breaking records — they’re also breaking barriers in business. Trailblazers like Serena Williams and Allyson Felix have turned their athletic success into business success, proving that excellence doesn’t stop at the finish line. Tennis legend Serena Williams has made her mark as a venture capitalist, investing in companies that drive innovation and equity. Allyson Felix, the most decorated female track athlete in Olympic history, founded Saysh, a sneaker brand designed for women, by women. Their journeys highlight the power of vision and reinvention. Yet, their success also underscores a harsh reality: Black women face significant hurdles in business. Despite being the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in the U.S., Black women receive less than 1% of venture capital funding. Limited access to capital, systemic inequities, and fewer networking opportunities remain steep challenges. Organizations like Black Girl Ventures and the NAACP Empowerment Programs are stepping in to change this narrative, providing funding, mentorship and resources to Black women entrepreneurs. These efforts are aimed at supporting individuals, closing the #racialwealthgap and creating generational prosperity for the Black community. As we celebrate the achievements of these extraordinary women, let’s also commit to building an ecosystem where every entrepreneur has the tools they need to succeed.

Southeast Regional Center for Entrepreneurship CAU and CAU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development and Clark Atlanta University School of Business were delighted to partner on the Panther Biz Expo event for homecoming this year. We love to see our Panthers entrepreneurial spirit !
On October 18th, Juicing With Soul had the honor of participating in a pop-up event at Clark Atlanta University School of Business alongside other amazing vendors. Little did we know, this event was also a competition! Throughout the day, about four judges stopped by to learn more about each business. It was such an incredible experience sharing the story and mission behind JWS. Fast forward to December 2nd, and we were overjoyed to hear that JWS won 1st place, along with a $500 prize! A heartfelt thank you to the judges for believing in our vision and to everyone who continues to support us on this journey. This is only the beginning! 🏆♥️

Over the next few weeks, I'm so excited that the Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship will be sharing several new programs and partnerships, not only to impact HBCU students, but also HBCU faculty, alumni, institutions, and entrepreneurs across the country. But first, sharing a few opportunities for established entrepreneurs, experts, and companies to engage with HBCU students at Howard and across the ecosystem: 1)Applications are now open for those who may be interested in serving as mentors for the 2nd cohort of our HBCU Startup Scholars Program. This program features a national cohort of HBCU student entrepreneurs with funding ($10,000), mentorship, and resources to grow their business ventures. Additionally, as a part of this program, scholars go through a yearlong accelerator program which meets biweekly to learn skills to help in developing a scalable strategic growth plan, and gain access to further funding opportunities. Apply to be a mentor: https://lnkd.in/eJ4MpCrZ 2)Also specifically to impact Howard student entrepreneurs, starting this semester we are excited to share Empower Advisor Hours: an opportunity for student entrepreneurs to get feedback and advising for their amazing business ideas. As an advisor, you will be able to guide the next generation of student entrepreneurs, helping them turn their ideas into successful businesses ventures. To start advising hours will be available (virtually) to student entrepreneurs every other Friday from 11 am to 1 pm. We have some amazing partners we are working with for this initiative, but still are seeking additional experts and business professionals to help assist our students. If interested in volunteering as an advisor, complete the following application: https://lnkd.in/eZpnmQXn
