We are a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting exceptional needs students and families in South Carolina created by the passage of the Exceptional SC Law of 2021. Your Donation Creates Opportunity - A donation to Exceptional SC helps pay private school tuition for an eligible exceptional needs student in South Carolina. Who Can Donate? - Individuals, corporations and pass-through entities who pay South Carolina income taxes can donate to the Exceptional SC 501(c)(3) scholarship fund. Donors are: Eligible to claim a dollar for dollar credit on state income tax liability; (or) Entitled to a tax credit against bank taxes imposed pursuant to Chapter 11, Title 12; Limited to a maximum credit claim that is 75% of their one-year tax liability; Allowed to carry your donation forward for up-to 3 years Not allowed to designate specific student or school as beneficiary; Limited by a first come, first serve annual statewide cap. To receive a scholarship, exceptional needs students must prove eligibility. Scholarships are then awarded based on a number of criteria. Genuine Learning Blog: On September 23, 2024 the @AICPA Accounting & Review Services Committee proposed SSARS Applicability of AR-C Section 70 to Financial Statements Prepared as Part of a Consulting Services Engagement, would amend the applicability of AR-C section 70, Preparation of Financial Statements, in AICPA Professional Standards to explicitly exclude financial statements prepared as part of a consulting services engagement performed in accordance with CS section 100, Consulting Services: Definitions and Standards, in AICPA Professional Standards from those engagements in which AR-C section 70 is required to be applied. The comment period ends December 20. The proposed SSARS would become effective for the preparation of financial statements for period ending on or after December 15, 2026.
