Soda Health is proud to be a part of the FMI- The Food Industry Association Health & Wellbeing Council. We had the privilege of sharing our perspective on the future of #FoodisMedicine last week in DC alongside our friends at H-E-B, Giant Food and Price Chopper Supermarkets-Market 32.
Our Health & Well-being Council gathered for three days of powerful discussion and collaboration focused on shaping the future of nutrition and health in the food industry. Day 1: We kicked off with a tour of the U.S. Capitol, learning about advocacy efforts and discussing the impact of public policy on our work. Day 2: At the FMI office, we tackled key health and well-being topics, breaking into groups to develop actionable strategies to drive industry progress—from food as medicine to community wellness. Day 3: We explored the vital role of building trust with value-based messaging in an engaging workshop led by the @Center for Food Integrity. Together, we’re making the business case for nutrition and health initiatives that benefit communities, customers, and the food industry as a whole. Our co-founder and President, Daryl Risinger, spoke at #NACDSTSE and emphasized the economic benefits to health plans of partnering with pharmacies, highlighting the opportunity to improve star ratings and boost revenue. “If you want to move the needle, you need to be in retail because retail is where consumers are spending most of their time.” While seniors may see their physician 5 times per year, they shop for groceries an estimated 80 times per year and visit their pharmacist 30 times per year- retail is the place that integrates nutrition and health care.
