Smithfield Foods recently signed an agreement with VisionAg, LLC, an affiliate of HD3 Farms, one of the largest wean-to-finish and finishing growers in the U.S., to supply hogs to the company as an independent pork producer. Under the terms of the agreement, VisionAg Hog Production will assume ownership of 28,000 sows currently owned by Smithfield, as well as the market hogs they produce, and is expected to have the capacity to produce 600,000 hogs annually for Smithfield's fresh pork operations. https://brnw.ch/21wPBy6

Addressing hunger in our local communities is a top priority for Smithfield Foods, especially during the holiday season when food insecurity is most pronounced. This year, in partnership with Food Lion and Kroger, we are providing 2,000 free Smithfield Hickory Smoked Spiral Sliced Hams, along with grocery bags of seasonal sides, to our neighbors in need. Food insecurity doesn’t take a holiday break, and neither do we.

Our commitment to our communities goes beyond any single event; it’s about continuous support. Whether it’s responding to natural disasters, organizing community drives or volunteering time, we’re dedicated to making a difference year-round. That is why, we recently held a toy drive for children affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. Our team collected new, unwrapped toys from all Eastern NC Hog Production facilities, ensuring they’ll reach Black Mountain in time for Santa’s visit.

Our incredible Smithfield team members in Laurinburg and Warsaw, NC, recently teamed up with Military Missions in Action (MMIA) for Operation Rescue Christmas. Together, they sorted and packaged over 200 boxes of toys for children of veterans and helped prepare the MMIA float for the local parade. MMIA supports veterans and their families through various initiatives, including home repairs, care packages and home furnishing efforts.

Securing protein is crucial yet often difficult for families facing food insecurity, particularly during the holiday season. This past week, Smithfield Foods stepped up by donating 50,000 pounds of protein to the 28th Annual Mayflower Marathon Food and Fund Drive. Benefiting the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, more than 40 dedicated Smithfield employees volunteered throughout the 57-hour, round-the-clock event. https://brnw.ch/21wOXvL

Team members at our Smithfield, VA corporate office recently gathered to present a $10,000 donation to Make-A-Wish of Greater Virginia (MAW), an organization that delivers life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This donation will sponsor the wish of Trey, a nine-year-old from Hampton, VA, who dreams of visiting Florida’s theme parks with his family. We're honored to support such a meaningful cause and help make Trey's dream come true.
