🪽 Bringing 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 to new heights in the Bronx! 🍎 We’re back in the classroom at Harry S Truman High School, where students from the STEM lab and robotics program could dive deep into the design and engineering behind how drones are made, and learn real-world applications directly from New York City Police Department Detective Vic Mevo and Metropolitan Transportation Authority. To top it off, the best part of the day was getting hands-on fly time with our drones! Wrapped up the conference with a live demo session! One thing that never gets old since I’ve been at Skydio is being able to ask a crowd, “who’s never flown a drone before?” …. picking the most nervous people to fly first … and seeing their reactions at how easy it is. We had 2 drones in the air, with options to inspect the “substation” we brought or the HVAC equipment on the rooftop of the hotel. The thermal profiles from the California sun on equipment were so interesting! And of course, a group selfie, taken from the drone 📸 Many thanks to CEATI for the invitation to run this hands-on aerial inspection session!

Heroic efforts by the Tulsa Fire Department jumping into action to quickly extinguish a massive chemical fire at the AXEL Royal facility in West Tulsa this week. In order to get on scene faster and keep crews at a safe distance, Tulsa FD deployed their largest drone response to date with 7 drones and 8 pilots, made possible by a recent groundbreaking FAA waiver. This exemplifies how drone technology can help enhance situational awareness for first responders with even the most volatile situations and ensure safer outcomes. We love to see a fire agency using docked drones for Drone as First Responder. 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘶𝘭𝘴𝘢 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.
