The formula to build a great speech: COD: Collecting information + organizing it + delivery it to your audience. This week, we had a power packed session by DTM Nagesh Ramamurthy (PhD) at Scarlet Speakers (Toastmasters Club at Kyndryl). DTM Nagesh has empowered more than 10K professionals and yesterday he shared his varied experience with all of scarlet members as they build on their communication and leadership skills. A few key takeaways captured by our club secretary Revathi Varadharajan   -Purpose of Speech: Focus on the purpose (entertain, educate, motivate, influence) rather than just the topic.  -Speech Structure: Develop content first, then organize it into introduction, body, and conclusion with smooth transitions.  -Storytelling: Use vivid imagery and sensory details. Include conflicts and resolutions to engage the audience.  -Vocal Variety and Body Language: Vary pitch, pace, volume, and pauses. Use body language and facial expressions to convey emotions.  -Conclusion: Make the conclusion impactful and memorable, leaving a lasting impression. -Nagesh emphasized having conversations rather than giving speeches to better connect with the audience. #Laughter is the best medicine; our scarlet speakers know how to practice it. It was a fun-filled meeting with a lot of best practices and a great theme introduced by our TMOD TM Vandana Jindal with colourful topics by Swetha S (With each colour Swetha mentioned the significance and people can talk about the the trait associated with the colour). For e.g. Colour blue is associated with the word the "trust". Table Topic speaker TM Padmapriya M, mentioned "it takes time to build the trust and one must keep up with it". TM Sheena Chaudhary spoke about Tooriya as pure consciousness and explained its relevance and what made her choose yoga and wellness. TM Shreya Sircar spoke about how her father influenced her love for music and she grew up listening to Pandit Jasraj and many great classical singers. Thanks to all the #toastmasters for joining and sharing their life experiences.
