My takeaways: - You can predict when people actually need help and this is the best time for salespeople to reach out - You can have a completely remote and flat org if you hire the right people. - Those people you should hire are torpedoes. Ankur took the the smartest approach possible to building Braintrust Ankur Goyal wrote down a list of 50 leading, target companies (with help from legendary investor Elad Gil) Then he reached out to all of them - getting their feedback, learning how they were using GenAI and the challenges they had And since they were also the companies leading the way in GenAI, he could use that to drive product development, knowing others would follow their path His first users were Zapier, Airtable and Coda and now everyone on his list uses Braintrust They now have probably the best set of logos I've ever seen for a one year old DevTool: Vercel, Stripe, Instacart. There's a guy in London called Samuel Colvin who built a Python library so popular that even the NSA use it. The library - Pydantic - gets so much love that Jason Liu even gave a talk at AI Engineer Summit titled "Pydantic is all you need" Now, Pydantic have launched Logfire and raised $12m from Sequoia to bring the developer experience of Pydantic to observability. I sat down with Samuel to find out how he plans to take on the likes of DataDog.
