I'm just back from Next.js Conf where we launched a new tentpole feature in front of thousands of developers. It was never really on our road map. We all love to imagine the modern enterprise as a sleek machine, where flawless processes run like clockwork. But let's be real—standout results usually involve a mix of inspiration and a healthy dose of improvisation. The feature we introduced was our new Live Content API—an unexpected breakthrough that makes building live-by-default applications at scale incredibly simple. The reactions from the developer community have been heartwarming, and the best part? This wasn't even on our roadmap. We had actually been developing the High-Frequency CDN to help e-commerce customers serve time-critical content updates during flash sales or Black Friday events. But as we worked on it, we realized that this technology could solve a much bigger problem for applications needing real-time updates. By combining this high-frequency CDN with a real-time event stream, the Live Content API emerged—a tool that lets any app deliver live updates to millions, with almost no code changes. It's a reminder of how real innovation often happens: solving one problem, then spotting opportunities to create something far more impactful and having the freedom to go for it. The Live Content API was just a bit of an appetizer, though. We have so much more coming out. I'm looking at the demos taking shape on our Slack right now, and it's frankly awe-inspiring. I can't wait for you to see it all. This Sanity Winter Release is a set of features designed to support that kind of inspired, flexible work across the content lifecycle. From AI-assisted creation and Automatic Content Mapping in Sanity Create to visual page building and coordinated content releases, we're equipping teams to work their way—structured but adaptable, accountable yet open to spontaneity. Demos of the release will drop on our YouTube channel and will, of course, be widely shared on our social channels, so make sure you're following us somewhere. And if you're like us and want to get into the details and logic behind the tech, also join our developer deep dive with the engineers behind these new capabilities. It's a peek into the messy reality of creating these amazing features. You'll meet the engineers behind these innovations, and we'll share both our wins and our learnings. Sign up to join live or watch the recording whenever you like. See you there! https://lnkd.in/dVCCp7_Y
