Yesterday, a group of SDTA volunteers had the honor of serving lunch to 140 seniors at the Gary And Mary West Senior Wellness Center. Along with providing meals, we enjoyed meaningful conversations and moments of connection with the dedicated staff, community members, and seniors. Serving Seniors, a local organization, is committed to helping seniors in poverty lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Using an innovative, wraparound approach, they offer vital services including meals, housing, health care, and lifelong learning opportunities to empower seniors to thrive. SDTA is proud to support this impactful mission by volunteering and strengthening connections within our community.

We relaunched the general managers edition of San Diego Meetings Certified at the San Diego Mission Valley Marriott. This event brought together hotel general managers for engaging discussions and valuable insights about America's Brightest City. The program featured a presentation by Terri Roberts, program manager at 2Synergize, a Simpleview Consulting Agency, who shared insights into San Diego's site experience program and the critical role general managers play in closing business. Terri also unpacked key findings from Cvent’s recent planners sourcing report, highlighting eight major trends shaping the industry, from budgeting and technology to elevating attendee experiences. SDTA's Sales Leadership team provided updates on citywide forecasts, housing and hotel meeting strategies, and new objectives for site experiences and client services. The event underscored our tourism community's dedication to excellence in the meetings and events industry, reinforcing San Diego as a premier destination for planners and attendees. #MeetinSanDiego #Meetings #Event #MeetingPlanners

We’re thrilled to share that San Diego has been included in Bloomberg’s Where to Go in 2025! This is huge recognition, placing our favorite city among the world’s most sought-after destinations for travel in the upcoming year. The article highlighted the city’s growing arts and cultural experiences, newly renovated hotels, and giant pandas. What a wonderful way to end the year and welcome the next. https://lnkd.in/gD55vT4c

We wrapped up another successful holiday breakfast at Butch McGuire's in #Chicago. This year, 17 of our tourism partners and more than 50 meeting professionals from the region came together to celebrate the season and make a meaningful impact in the local community. A donation of $500 was made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. Additionally, we collected hats, scarves, and gloves to help keep those in need warm during the colder months. A heartful thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make this annual tradition so special. #AmericasBrightestCity #MeetinSanDiego #SanDiego

We were thrilled to join forces with nine amazing tourism partners to showcase San Diego at the 2024 California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) Seasonal Spectacular in Sacramento. With an expansive tradeshow, inspiring education sessions, and productive appointments, it was the perfect opportunity to wrap up business needs and sleigh into the holiday season. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to connect and share in the holiday cheer!
