Christmas is the season of giving and our Humanitarian hotels are all about giving back. Nestled inside Saint John’s Resort, stand three “Giving Trees” honoring three local charities: Vista Maria, The Children's Center of Wayne County, and The Arc of Northwest Wayne County. These organizations are dedicated to helping those in need in our community. With the stewardship of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, we are decorating for a cause this season, and we hope our guests will join us in this pursuit. Please visit our hotel lobby to purchase an ornament to decorate one (or all!) of our giving trees. Saint John's Resort will match your donation 5x. Our guests, followers, staff, and community are a huge part of our story at Saint John's, and we'd love for you to be a part of this chapter.

With our mission to serve others as our guiding principle, our “Thanks for Giving” campaign offers a unique opportunity to dine for a cause this November. On behalf of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, Saint John’s Resort is donating 20% of revenue from each of our three dining outlets to Detroit based charities. Five Steakhouse is partnered with St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen, The Wine Grotto with Motor City Lyric Opera, and Doyles Irish Pub with St. Patrick Senior Center. These are the memorable moments. It was an honor to present Society Of St. Vincent de Paul with a donation on behalf of Saint John's Resort and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation to further the work they are doing to prevent homelessness, fight hunger and change lives. The winners of our the 2024 Cardinal Classic Golf Tournament held at Saint John's Resort played for Society of St. Vincent de Paul and had the opportunity to deliver a check from The Foundation and witness, first hand, the incredible difference they helped to make! As part of its Humanitarian Hotels initiative, 100% of the net profits from Saint John's Resort are donated to charities like the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. In addition, the property undertakes programming for employees, guests, and non-profits that represent The Foundation’s mission of serving people in need.

Our Mandela Washington Fellows enjoyed a busy few days in America's Motor City. Activities in Detroit included a tour of St. John's Resort, part of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation's Humanitarian Hotels initiative. There, Fellows learned 100 percent of the resort's net profits go to support charities around the globe, putting through the St. John's training golf course and meeting with Wayne State University's Mandela Washington Fellow cohort. On day two, Fellows visited The Kresge Foundation to hear how the foundation invests in the arts, education, health and human services and the environment to promote equity and create opportunities in the city. Finally, they visited Ford's Michigan Assembly Plant, where they observed the manufacturing of Ford F150 trucks.
