About us

At RVO Health, our mission is to give people a better way to health & wellbeing. We own and operate the largest health & wellbeing platform in the US, helping nearly 100 million people a month seek information, find a doctor, save money, and take action around their health & wellbeing. Our portfolio of industry-leading websites, products and services touches every part of the health and wellness journey. The Healthline Group portfolio (Healthline, Medical News Today, Psych Central, Greatist, and Bezzy) and the Healthgrades brand comprise the largest health information audience in the US. The Healthline Group connects millions of people daily to medically-backed information about thousands of health-related questions, products, and chronic conditions. Through Healthgrades, the largest marketplace for finding healthcare, we help half of Americans find and evaluate a doctor each year. Through Optum Store, we sell thousands of FSA/HSA-eligible health and wellness products direct-to-consumer and connect health seekers to mental health, condition-based virtual care, and an online pharmacy. Through Optum Perks, we help millions of people save money through our prescription savings program. Millions of health seekers also use RVO Health’s virtual coaching programs each year to lose weight, stop smoking, and find better wellbeing. Our portfolio includes education and advice, condition-based communities, access to healthcare, an ecommerce store of health products and services, prescription discounts and delivery, and more. We are making health easier to navigate, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone. Furthermore, all of our content, products, and services are medically-backed, so people can trust that they are getting accurate support for their health. RVO Health is backed by Red Ventures and Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group. Select brands previously operated by Red Ventures and Optum are now independently operated by RVO Health.

🤯 What a week being surprised left and right! 👊 Thank you, Online News Association, for appointing me to the ONA Board of Directors! Honored to have the opportunity to pay it forward and serve our large, diverse community of digital journalists, innovators, educators, students and beyond. Special shoutout to Kristen B. Reed, MS, MBA - Thank you for your service to the ONA Board and community in the last two years! ❤️ Coincidentally, I was floored during an all-hands editorial meeting when Robin Hough announced I'm the "Employee of the Month." Some wizards with powerful writing magic had come up with a next-level description + totally accurate and hilarious hashtags to reflect what I do and how I work. So grateful for our team at Healthline Media & RVO Health. To be honest - it's been absolute chaos of an October (a few months really...), and some days I feel like my head can't stop spinning for even a minute 😂 Thank you all so much for the love and support -- and for believing in the important work our amazing team does every day to close knowledge gaps and empower people on their health journeys 💕 Onward!

  • At RVO Health, we seek out health equity gaps and develop solutions that meet people where they are. Through Healthline's medically vetted content, Healthgrades' doctor finder, Optum Perks' low-cost online care platform, (and so much more!) we aim to ensure individuals from all backgrounds can access vital health information to help improve their well-being. Our Chief Medical Officer, Jenny Yu, MD FACS, spoke with LinkedIn Editor at Large, Beth Kutscher, during the first day at HLTH USA to discuss how tech might be widening health equity gaps faster than closing them.

Generative AI is clearly the talk of #HLTH this year, but some areas are moving faster than others. One of the interesting thoughts I heard today was how technology may be creating health equity issues faster than it’s solving them. Take primary care. Unlike some other specialties, internal medicine still requires in-person care in many cases. While the long-term vision might be a virtual-first environment with remote patient monitoring, that’s not the current reality. Instead, many people are finding long waits for care, leading them to seek out concierge-style doctors who offer direct primary care (if they can afford it) or companies that promise quick access, which has been a big selling point for players like Amazon/One Medical. Meanwhile, traditional primary care providers tend to be left with the sickest, most complicated patients. “And I think we haven’t thought about that yet,” says Jenny Yu, MD FACS, chief medical officer of RVO Health, parent company of Healthline Media and Healthgrades. “What’s a good sort of patient mix for longitudinal care?” In the video below, she shares her thoughts on the health equity gap in primary care. • We're deeply inspired by the incredible outpouring of support from our teams in the tragic wake of Hurricane Helene. Thank you to our RVOH colleagues and to our friends at Red Ventures for partnering with us on this week's donation drive! One of our core values is “no one’s an island,” and we’re grateful to see so many show up in that spirit, even in the most challenging times. Our thoughts are with all of our team members and the communities that were affected by this tragedy

Our hearts are heavy witnessing the aftermath of Hurricane Helene on the Carolinas and beyond. Proud of our Red Ventures and RVO Health teammates for coming together to donate supplies and raise over $50,000 towards recovery efforts across the Carolinas. ❤️ Our thoughts are with the families and communities as they navigate the road to recovery.

  • Nearly 300 of our brightest minds scrambled and hacked their way through an electrifying three-day event at our Charlotte headquarters this week. 🚀 RVO Health’s 2024 Tech Summit brought together our engineering, security, IT, TPM and data teams from across the world and featured special guests like our CEO Jeff Hallock and VP of Generative AI at Databricks, Naveen Rao. Highlights that got our synapses firing: • An intense hackathon pushed teams to pave new roads by acting with conviction–while having a blast!  • 28 teams scrambled their way through a four-story egg drop challenge (with some cracking results!) • Teams led strategy sessions and learnings that sparked new ideas For many, it was the first face-to-face meeting since our 2022 launch. The energy was palpable as teams collaborated, innovated, and connected over food trucks and games. Curious about joining a team that's working on building a better way to health–and attending some pretty amazing events along the way? 👉 Swipe through the photos to catch the summit vibe 👉 Visit rvohealth.com/careers to explore exciting opportunities with us! #HealthTech #InnovationInAction #Innovation #JoinOurTeam

  • "Self-love is being more committed to your happiness and peace than your own suffering."That’s one of the many powerful ideas that guest speaker Nitika Chopra shared with RVO Health’s teams last week. (En)courage, our Employee Impact Group for team members with disabilities, hosted the webinar as part of our celebration of Disability Pride Month. The event, focused on thriving with a chronic illness, explored the complexities of living with invisible and visible illnesses, building a supportive community and moving forward with grace. Thank you Nitika for your candid presentation and to (En)courage leaders, Molly Unrath and Ryan McKenna for moderating! It's initiatives like this that reinforce RVO Health's commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, understanding and empowerment.

  • Our summer intern cohort participated in mid-summer business reviews last week; presenting to a variety of teams, their mentors, cross-functional leaders, including CEO Jeff Hallock and Chief of Staff Stephanie Friedrich Landry. Interns shared how their projects support the work of their teams, brands and the larger RVOH purpose. Congratulations on hitting the mid-summer mark and thanks for all of your hard work thus far!

  • Last week, RVO Health had the privilege of hearing from Douglas Backstrom, senior copy editor at Healthline Media, for a thought-provoking session on why diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) initiatives must be championed by company leaders to truly take root. At RVO Health, we're committed to building a company that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve and empowering every employee to show up authentically. Thank you to Douglas for an insightful session!
