At Riviera Partners, every year we reflect on the people and companies that we have helped to reach their potential. This year, I’m proud to say that many of our biggest game-changers in Europe are women. Here’s a snapshot of 2024: 🔅 Two-thirds of our searches have been in engineering— the function with the most pronounced gender gap. 🔅 Women secured leadership roles in 28% of our placements. 🔅 According to LinkedIn Talent Insights, in Europe only 23% of product leaders and 7% of engineering leaders are women. Why does this matter? Research consistently shows that diverse perspectives drive better decision-making, fuel innovation, and foster inclusive company cultures. Yet underrepresentation in leadership— especially in engineering and product— remains a significant challenge. There’s still much more progress needed and we are committed to being a part of the solution. Some initiatives for 2025 already underway which I'm excited to share more about in the coming months. To the incredible women stepping into these roles, and to the companies committed to equity in leadership – thank you for engaging with us this year! To name a few: Helen Greul, Ruhi Dang, Lee F., Charlotte Roach (and many more). --- *Diversity is multifaceted and gender is only one aspect. However, grounding these discussions in data—where gender remains one of the few consistently self-reported forms of diversity—is critical for driving change. *Source: LinkedIn Talent Insights 13,283 CPOs/VPPs in Europe: 23% women, 77% men 87,178 CTOs/VPEs in Europe: 7% women, 93% men #RivieraPartners #WomeninTech #DEI #TechnologyLeadership

Last Thursday, Riviera Partners teamed up with Visionaries Club to host a Product and Tech Breakfast featuring an engaging roundtable discussion led by Krishna Panicker and Andy Cheadle. The conversation was rich with insights and practical strategies for navigating growth and collaboration in tech and product functions. Some key takeaways: ➡️ Process is never one-size-fits-all: what works to solve your growing pains now won't always work as you scale. Context and adaptability are essential for iterative success. ➡️ Great leaders remove blockers to efficiency. Even high-performing teams can struggle without the right context and clear expectations. ➡️ "Go slow to move fast" - as organizations reach a certain scale, intentionality in organizational design becomes increasingly critical to ensure growth aligns with strategic goals. A heartfelt thank you to Linh Seidel and Betty Lu at Visionaries Club, to the speakers for sharing their expertise with the room, and to everyone who joined for breakfast! #ProductManagement #TechLeadership #VisionariesClub #RivieraPartners Claire Ruder, Vaiva Uryzaj, Balsam Mirza

🔒 Cybersecurity: How do you lead in a world where it’s everyone’s business? Food for thought (leaders): Riviera Partners recently hosted an exclusive dinner for cybersecurity leaders and investors in Menlo Park, CA. Featured guest David Mahon shared valuable insights from his experience with the FBI, CenturyLink, and Deloitte, sparking a lively discussion on: ➡️ Business-first leadership. Security leaders must align technical expertise with business strategy to drive success. ➡️ The real-world stakes. Cyber threats—from healthcare disruptions to the Colonial Pipeline breach—impact lives and critical systems. ➡️ Responsibility for defense. Should SMBs shoulder the burden of nation-state attacks, or does government intervention play a larger role? 💬 Your turn: - How can security leaders align technical expertise with business goals? - Should the government do more to protect businesses from nation-state attackers? - What’s the best way for mid-sized organizations to manage growing cybersecurity challenges? Share your thoughts 👇 or DM us to connect. At Riviera Partners, we place leaders shaping the future of cybersecurity. Last week, Riviera Partners was proud to co-host an insightful event with enrich, featuring an inspiring panel discussion with Jennifer Taylor, Marcie Vu, and Anjali Joshi on how women can secure board seats. The conversation was full of practical advice and actionable steps for aspiring board members. Standout insights?: ➡️ The journey to the boardroom often starts with saying “yes” to your first opportunity—even if it’s not what you envisioned. That first seat opens the door to future opportunities. ➡️Another key takeaway was the reminder that being a board member isn’t about offering advice—it’s about understanding and fulfilling the strategic responsibilities that come with the role. ➡️And finally, joining a board is a significant commitment, often requiring a few days of focused effort each month. Thank you to enrich for partnering with us to host this impactful discussion, our speakers and to everyone who attended. We’re excited to continue the discussions! #LeadershipDevelopment #WomenOnBoards #BoardroomInsights #RivieraPartners Jack Gage Sam Wilkins Margot Pugh
