As we close out the week, we want to recognize our volunteers who offered their time on Monday and Tuesday to support The Salvation Army of Des Plaines with their Angel Tree program. We're grateful for our dedicated Team Members who consistently support such worthy causes. Additionally, this week our Rivers Gives Foundation made generous donations to both AllenForce and Honor Flight Chicago. Our Team Members also contributed by purchasing baked goods for the holidays, with proceeds going to AllenForce. Throughout November, we collaborated with our food outlets to donate $1 from select food items, alongside a Giving Tuesday event that encouraged guest participation. From now until January 13th, we will be collecting new or gently used coats, along with packaged new socks and underwear in all sizes for men, women, and children. Damaris has been an integral part of the Food & Beverage team and Rivers Casino for nearly 11 years beginning her journey in Food and Beverage as a Busser and excelling in various roles including Server, Host, Cashier, Food Runner, Lead Barista, Dual-Rate Supervisor, and most recently, F&B supervisor. When she is not leading her team to success, you can find Damaris traveling and enjoying the beach. As November came to a close, we reflected on a month filled with gratitude, community, and team spirit at Rivers Casino! Our Team Members kicked off the season by visiting the Farmers Market to stock up on fresh produce and festive treats for their Thanksgiving feast. Our annual turkey distribution was a huge success, spreading joy and ensuring our team members could share a holiday meal with their loved ones. The excitement continued with our Pie Sale, where delicious pies were picked up by our Team Members and proceeds went to support a local charity. To keep everyone warm, our Culinary Team served up homemade apple cider and a beautifully prepared Thanksgiving meal in our Team Member Dining Room. And we’re proud to have partnered with Hines VA Hospital to decorate ornaments for their Polytrauma Tree at Brookfield Zoo, sharing the holiday spirit beyond our walls. This #GivingTuesday, our team had the incredible opportunity to give back by partnering with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). Together, we hand-packed MannaPack meals specifically designed to prevent and reverse undernutrition. It was a rewarding experience to see our efforts come together for such a vital cause.
