We're proud to announce that Richards Layton directors Lisa Schmidt and Doneene Damon have once again been chosen for the Delaware Business Times “Delaware 222” list. The list recognizes the state’s most impactful business, nonprofit, and civic leaders across a variety of industries, honoring those who are creating jobs, helping to shape the state’s public policy, or serving communities in need. Delaware Business Times cited Lisa’s acclaimed corporate litigation practice and added that she continues “to push diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at the firm that is often a bellwether for the Wilmington legal industry.” Stating that Doneene “is a trailblazing attorney who became the first woman of color to lead a major Delaware law firm,” Delaware Business Times noted her expertise in statutory trusts, asset-backed securities, and private equity funds. This year we marked a monumental milestone for our firm – 125 years of innovation, dedication, and service to our clients, partners, and communities we serve. As we reflect on our history, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this incredible journey and the visionary leaders who helped us grow and evolve. It’s amazing to think about how far we’ve come: from the small office Robert Richards rented on Market Street in 1899 to the eight floors we occupy today at One Rodney Square, becoming Delaware’s largest law firm. We had a fabulous time at our 125th anniversary celebration! We gathered with well over 200 firm lawyers and staff, plus retired directors, retired staff members, and even some of our incoming 2025 associates! We were—and still are—filled with gratitude for the opportunity to come together to mark this special milestone. As we look to the future, we remain committed to embracing new opportunities and continuing to make a positive impact. Thank you for being a part of our story. Here’s to the next 125 years! 📸 Elisa Morris Photography

Richards, Layton & Finger reposted this
I am incredibly proud to have litigated this case and obtained such a positive (and unique) result for our clients. It was a privilege to contribute to this effort as part of the outstanding team at Richards, Layton & Finger. On a personal level, this case was especially meaningful because it gave me the opportunity to work with my beloved former colleagues at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, along with forming new relationships with the exceptional lawyers at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best lawyers in the country.
