Last Saturday, Ria was part of the annual Children's Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA fundraising event. It was an extraordinary success that saw the organizers reach their goal of 1,524 Dream Makers. Ria's contribution was some $70k, thanks to the combined efforts of our amazing customers. It's an achievement that represents the love, generosity and hope that we have for all the kids and families who benefit from TeletonUSA's Children's Rehabilitation Institute (CRIT). Through them each child has the chance to receive the therapy and support they need. Yajaira left her native Guadalajara when she was just eight years of age. She left behind many of her siblings, her dad, and the rest of her extended family whom she never saw again for over 25 years. While she was excited to join her mom in California, there were many challenges she’d have to face, from learning a new language to finding ways to live far from her loved ones. Recently, we were honored to receive a visit from the López-Garcia family as part of our ongoing involvement with the Children's Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA, a foundation that seeks to enhance the lives of infants with a range of disabilities. After receiving a tour of our Buena Park office, the family joined employees outdoors for a nutritious Thanksgiving lunch. “The family was so grateful for the invite, and they instantly felt at home among us,” revealed Lucy Douriet, Ria's Senior Marketing Manager for the Americas region. Throughout the afternoon, we learned more about Natasha, their adorable 9-year-old daughter who was born with cerebral palsy, including the many hurdles the family has overcome to access the best treatment. Driven by their relentless love for their daughter, parents Juan and Maricela strive every single day to help make Natasha’s life more comfortable. It’s that adoration that also pushes us at Ria to keep working with foundations like TeletónUSA. Last Sunday, we proudly sponsored the 44th edition of the Trofeo José Cano, a popular run in Madrid that promotes sport and healthy lifestyle habits, particularly among young adults and children. Throughout the morning, there were six races for junior categories before the main ten-kilometer event, a competition that snaked across the Canillejas neighborhood before finishing alongside one of the district’s many parks. With over 100 Ria employees also participating in the race, the day proved to be one of encouragement, perseverance and, above all, togetherness.
