About us
The Rhythmos Cadency EdgeAI™ platform creates transparency for utilities, fleet managers, electric vehicle manufacturers, and service providers to understand the hidden effects of electric vehicle (EV) load on the distribution grid on a granular level. CadencyAI™ was designed using artificial intelligence, power system engineering, and machine learning-driven data analytics to provide distribution system-optimized charging and critical asset management for utilities and EV fleets. The platform allows utilities to more than double the number of EVs charging on their existing distribution system, avoiding costly and time-consuming capacity upgrades. Likewise, the platform allows fleet managers to optimize their charging and defer any need to upgrade utility service levels as they adopt EVs, all while reducing charging energy costs. Rhythmos facilitates the shift to electric vehicles for drivers, utilities, and automakers by minimizing the required infrastructure investments, thereby maintaining affordable electricity rates and enhancing the driver experience. Cadency EdgeAI™ provides utilities and fleets with advanced analytics tools to monitor and optimize electric vehicle charging on their distribution systems. By analyzing EV charging loads, our solution helps utilities and fleets minimize energy costs, protect infrastructure assets, and maximize the use of renewable energy sources. Our efficient and cost-effective approach allows for a smooth transition to electric vehicles without major infrastructure investments.

I am really looking forward to working with Joe Sullivan. As the utility industry goes, I'm surprised we haven't run in similar circles before. He is a great addition to our growing company, and I am eager to learn from him on how to deliver the promise of electrification in a cost-effective way for utilities and their customers. Welcome aboard!
One thing I am most proud of at Rhythmos.io is the high-performing, deeply committed, and industry-tenured team we've built. We continue that today with the announcement of Joe Sullivan as Chief Revenue Officer of Rhythmos.io. Joe’s career includes decades of diverse experiences in complex, high-performance environments that require strong leadership skills and an acute understanding of the energy and utility landscape, coupled with the unique knowledge of the needs of distribution network operations planners, system engineers, and program managers. This combination has led to an impressive set of achievements. Previously in charge of sales for North America at PXiSE Energy Solutions, Joe brings a wealth of experience in utilizing AI and high-resolution weather data to optimize power production and electric-load forecasting in the renewable and North American utility sectors. PXiSE Energy Solutions specializes in software-based controls for significant renewable ventures, microgrids, and distributed energy resource management solutions system (#DERMS) operations for both utilities and #DER aggregators. His skill, experience, and expertise helped commercialize some of the industry's most essential and advanced technologies, especially around grid-edge and distribution network-based solutions. Nobody understands the needs of the electric industry better than Joe Sullivan. We are honored to have him as a valuable addition to the executive team at Rhythmos.io. #evinfrastructure #evcharging #distributionnetwork

Managed charging can yield a suite of benefits touching every part of the electricity marketplace. With a growing charging load that can be flexible and intelligent, EVs are part of the larger discussion around the evolution of the grid and the future of the electric utility industry. Ken Munson's newsletter discusses some of the findings and thoughts as a result of the recent National Grid filing around building an EV ecosystem with the support of managed charging and other innovative program opportunities. Take a moment and read here! ⬇️ #optimizedcharging #managedcharging #evs #electricvehicles #distributiongrid
National Grid recently submitted its Electric Sector Modernization Plan - the Future Grid Plan outlining the critical investments needed in the local electric distribution system over the next five and ten years. One primary focus was to empower customers to make smart, clean energy choices that work for them and accelerate electrification to meet the #2050CECP goals, which include 97% of all passenger vehicles being electrified in Massachusetts. Achieving these goals requires a smarter, stronger, and cleaner grid. One solution for their electrified transportation goals includes offering flexible, simple, and transparent EV-managed charging programs. National Grid requested Commission approval to attempt to grow and scale the current design of its managed charging program. The primary purpose of this newsletter post is to provide a summary of their filing and offer insights into various programs designed around customer behavior, needs, and experiences. #evinfrastructure #evcharging

🏆 Outcomes from EPRI's Incubatenergy® Labs (IEL) 2023 program - which we were one of 16 start-up companies 🏆 demonstrating advanced decarbonization, electrification, grid modernization, and resilience technologies. Click the link below ⬇ ⬇ to download results from our project with the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) where Rhythmos.io ingested 3.5 years of historical AMI data along with asset information from KUB’s GIS system. Rhythmos.io helped KUB with asset nameplate capacity and the connectivity model between meters, service transformers, feeders, and distribution substations. This project detects EV Level 2 charging by meter, disaggregates EV charging load from building load, and characterizes the charging behavior of EV customers. Rhythmos.io also generates day-ahead forecasts from historical data for service transformers as well as provides historical loading information on each service transformer! Let us work with you and show you how to create a utility dashboard that shows the connectivity of EV customer meters to service transformers, feeders, and distribution substations using your GIS information! The Cadency EdgeAI™ platform will show historical distribution system asset loading geospatially with weekly AMI and GIS data.
