Don't Let Past Trauma Determine Your Future.
About us
I have more than 20 years of experience working with leave of absence, disability, and workplace accommodations. Throughout my career I have coached and mentored for career planning and professional development. Since 2022, I have worked as an Executive Career Consultant and Program Manager. I am a trauma survivor. I lost my father at the age of nine and experienced a complex relationship with my mother due to intergenerational trauma. I have first-hand experience with the challenges that Complex PTSD can bring to the workplace. With the support of a therapist who specializes in trauma, CBT and EMDR, I have been able to reprocess traumatic experiences, apply new strategies to manage my response to triggers and establish a career path that will be more fulfilling and less triggering. I am currently completing Complex Trauma Certified Recovery Coach (CTCRC) training with the International Complex Trauma Association (ICTA) which meets International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaches (IAOTRC). My education & credentials include: • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with Magna cum laude honors and Case Management Certificate from University of Southern Maine • Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy with Summa cum laude honors from Southern Maine Community College • Associate Life & Health Claims (ALHC) credential from International Claim Association • Certified Executive Coach & Mentor (CECM) Certification from the Management and Strategy Institute Starting on October 2, 2023, I will be accepting appointments for Complex PTSD survivors who need support with leave of absence or disability claims, requesting workplace accommodations or who want to understand their employee benefits before they need to use them. Trauma Career Coaching will be offered by the end of 2023. Resilience Career Coaching is located in Iowa, US and offers remote services throughout the United States.

The counterintuitive key to concussion recovery success Prioritizing cognitive breaks is crucial for employees returning to work after a concussion. 🧘♀️ Schedule short breaks every 30-45 minutes to rest your brain before feeling overloaded. Access quiet spaces or use noise-canceling headphones to avoid overstimulation. Simplify and structure tasks, organizing workload by complexity. Break down large tasks into manageable steps to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Communicate progress and discuss accommodations through regular check-ins to support recovery and productivity. #concussionrecovery #cognitivebreaks #recoverybreaks

The game-changing concussion return-to-work plan A step-by-step approach for employees returning to work after a concussion should focus on gradual reintegration and managing cognitive challenges. 📅 Key steps include open communication and assessment, planning a phased return, adjusting physical and environmental factors. Prioritizing cognitive breaks, simplifying tasks, communicating progress, managing meeting attendance and screen time, monitoring health, and evaluating long-term needs. This gradual approach supports a smoother transition back to work while balancing recovery and professional responsibilities. #returntowork #concussionrecovery #backtowork

Avoid this costly disability benefit mistake When managing health issues like concussions, it's essential to understand your company's disability and leave benefits. 💰 Speak with disability benefit providers, ask HR for contact information, and learn about benefits through the benefits booklet and portal. Understand the required documentation and timeline for submitting it upfront to avoid the stress of having a claim not approved while dealing with recovery. Being well-informed helps you navigate the process more effectively. #disabilitybenefits #benefitproviders #benefitmistakes

Embracing Assistive Tools 🕶️ Initially, I felt self-conscious about wearing specialized glasses for my concussion recovery. However, I realized that the glasses were designed to help me live and function better. By embracing these tools as empowering rather than just accessories, I focused on taking care of myself and prioritizing my health. #assistivetools #selfcare #concussionrecovery
