On 10 November 2024, we invite you to experience the first concert with our test partner, the Philharmonia Orchestra, London, at the Royal Festival Hall, with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting works by Sibelius and Lindberg, where we will demonstrate live streaming with multiple user-selectable camera angles, 360° video, and 3D binaural sound. The recording of this concert will enable exploration of 3DoF (which stands for “three degrees of freedom”), leveraging novel sound field reconstruction techniques developed by the Politecnico di Milano. When this is accomplished, the video and audio will rotate to compensate for the user's head rotation such that the sound sources remain apparently static in the 3D sound field. This will mark an important milestone in our mission towards full 6DoF technology, due in the middle of next year, enabling navigating the acoustic field like a sonic hologram. This technology is still in the early stages of development, so this is very much a test. Event Details: Salonen conducts Sibelius and Lindberg | Philharmonia (https://lnkd.in/dPkeYKSQ) Date: Sunday 10 November 2024, 7:30 p.m (London time) Minimum Requirements: A mobile phone (iPhone) to access the concert via a custom app. Joining Instructions: We will send you a download link for the app upon confirmation of your participation. The test is for a limited audience. If you want to be part of it, please fill in the following form 👇🏻 https://lnkd.in/d3bTfCA9 Orchestra image ©luca migliore #repertorium #repertorium_ai #concert #philharmonia #app #Philharmoniaapp #AI #soundfieldreconstruction #technology #music #audio #techniques #polimi_ispl #stream #sibelius #lindberg #experience #innovation #sound

“Bons Chants” 🎶✨ – Discover how the nuns of Notre-Dame de Fidélité are preserving the sounds of Gregorian chant for generations to come, as featured in BBC Music Magazine . 📜 "…The sisters at Jouques sing the Novus Ordo form of the liturgy – the ‘new order’ set down by the Catholic Church following the reforms of the Second Vatican Council of 1962- 65. At Le Barroux, about 100km to the north-west, the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Sainte Madeleine sing another version – the Vetus Ordo, or ‘old order’, which was previously used by the church after the counter-reformational Council of Trent of 1545-63. These chants – all 2,200 hours of them – are also being recorded and will eventually be available on Neumz. The recording process, which started in June last year, is part of a bigger project called Repertorium, funded by a €3m grant from the European Union’s Horizon scientific research programme. The project aims to digitise over 400,000 photographic images of Gregorian chant manuscripts held at the Abbey of Saint Pierre in Solesmes in north-eastern France. Several organisations from across Europe, including Oxford University, are developing artificial intelligence tools that will analyse, index and cross-reference up to two million chants. The process is expected to uncover around 4,000 previously unknown chants that were sung and written down in individual monasteries centuries ago but not circulated to other religious houses. About 40 of these ‘new’ chants are performed by the vocal ensemble Schola Antiqua at a concert in Salamanca, Spain in the Autumn.…" Article by John-Pierre Joyce.
