  • A large public utility providing wholesale electricity to about 50 city-owned utilities and electric cooperatives recently went live with a digital transformation of its end-of-life mission-critical billing system. It had selected Red Clay Consulting to implement Oracle Customer Cloud Service (CCS) to facilitate its complex billing requirements and deploy a portal for its users and utility customers. Red Clay was selected for their deep expertise in complex billing for utilities, stretching back to the initial launch of the product from Oracle. Red Clay consultants led the conversion and migration of existing databases and rate schedules, processing of MV90 data and ERCOT settlement, and the deployment of a complex rate calculation engine, among other things. All this was done while moving to a cloud solution and ensuring technical currency in the future. Red Clay’s team includes experts in wholesale electric billing, rules engines, and rates, giving the client a trusted partner. Our market-leading experience with the full suite of Oracle Energy and Water solutions provided added value for the client for this and future applications. • An industry-leading electric utility in the midwest developed its digital transformation strategy around Oracle Energy and Utilities. Its multi-year plan will eventually re-configure the utility’s enterprise systems to allow it to deliver advanced products and solutions to millions of homes and businesses. The utility called on Red Clay’s senior advisors and subject matter experts to support the effort to migrate a legacy Meter Data Management (MDM) system to the Oracle Platform. The Red Clay team was one of the most extensive sets of experts involved. Critically, Red Clay held a place on the Solution Council, a multi-party decision team that led all aspects of the project and controlled operating specifications and project standards. Our expertise in MDM was brought to bear by placing Red Clay consultants in key project management, architecture, analysis, development, and training roles. Along the way, Red Clay initiated focused task teams to investigate optimal methods for dealing with legacy data and operations issues. Red Clay also allowed experts to model and stress-test configurations well before planned transition dates and analyze the resulting information for successful operation. Red Clay’s true team approach to every project we undertake has resulted in a spotless record of implementations. From point-based solutions to multi-year, multi-phased projects, we approach each engagement with care and a flair for details.
