🌟 Congratulations to Stefanie Ruf and Spyros N. Koulouris! from Technical University of Munich🎉 We are thrilled to announce that they successfully presented our project, supported by Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking during the Summer School in Dorfen! 🌍✨ Over 30 students collaborated on this initiative, showcasing their hard work and creativity. 📍 An exhibition at the town hall highlights their impressive results, capturing the essence of urban planning in small towns. 🏙️ Dorfen serves as a perfect example, alongside metropolitan cities like Toulouse and Milan, which are also being examined in this context. 📰 Two articles have been dedicated to this project—don't miss the chance to read them! Maria Gusarova from UIC - International union of railways #UICrail recently had the pleasure of presenting our innovative project at the UIC Customer Experience Working Group (CEMP) workshop. The focus was on enhancing the cycling experience within railway systems. Our living lab at Groupe SNCF Toulouse-Matabiau railway station is a key component of this initiative. We're working hard to improve the connection between trains and bikes. The recent placemaking "Gare au Vélo!" event was a huge success, with our team engaging over 300 users in a day of fun and informative activities. We're excited to contribute to the ongoing conversation about how we can create a more seamless and sustainable transportation experience. By understanding customer needs and implementing innovative solutions, we can make cycling a more attractive option for commuters. Let's keep the conversation going! 🚴♂️💼 #CustomerExperience #RailwayInnovation #SustainableTransport #UIC #Cycling #Transportation

Thrilled to share that the latest placemaking activity of the RAIL4CITIES project 🚉 on September 21, 2024, at Milano Rogoredo station 🇮🇹 was a huge success! The event, promoted by BABLE Smart Cities - Smart City Innovation Platform, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, and FsPark, and coordinated by STIPO, gathered a vibrant community to reimagine how we can transform stations into lively, welcoming spaces. 👫 Throughout the day, participants engaged in various activities focusing on sustainability and circular economy. At the interactive stand, set up by Design to Connect and Vivi Rogoredo, attendees shared innovative ideas on improving services and activities for the station. We even had a fantastic book and game exchange that saw many items swapped! 📅 Program highlights included: A green city walk 🌳 through Rogoredo’s neighborhood, discussing the role of trees and the circular economy (in collaboration with Vivi Rogoredo). A self-building workshop 🛠️ where participants helped create and decorate furniture for Piazza Redaelli (in collaboration with mare culturale urbano). It was wonderful to see the collaborative spirit and creativity on display! An expert interview 🎤 on circular economy and waste management, accompanied by live music 🎶 (thanks to Giacimenti Urbani and Gabbiani Fatti), which sparked thoughtful discussions and even rewarded participants with plantable prizes. ✨ The energy and engagement from the community made this event a true success! We’ve proven that stations can become vibrant, multifunctional places where people want to stay, not just pass through. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this day unforgettable, and in particular Alice Lunardon (BABLE), Luca Marrocchesi (RFI), Khadidja Salamah Konate and Giulia Sicignano (STIPO) and several associations.
