What specific challenges does your organisation face in managing health and safety compliance and maintaining asset integrity? In London, executive leaders gathered at an exclusive roundtable dinner to discuss this urgent question. The session explored how adopting automation and advanced technologies can help these sectors navigate a severe skills shortage, regulatory challenges, and the need for optimised asset management. The discussion covered essential strategies for enhancing operational safety, streamlining compliance processes, and using data-driven insights for proactive maintenance. Leaders also examined how these innovations enable skilled teams to focus on high-impact tasks, reducing the burden of manual processes while ensuring robust health and safety practices. Thank you to our hosts at Quickbase and Susan Millin for facilitating this invaluable discussion. And a special thank you to our guests, Laurence Cristofoli, Roland Meyer, Mohtashim Q., Amy. Xue , Francesca Amato, Philippa Jefferis, Ryan Schofield, @Virginia Coghe, and Anna Mela for sharing their insights and experiences! 73% of IT pros predict their organization will continue to grow their software investment and add new technologies in the next year, and 56% of respondents expect they’ll spend more time and resources on IT consolidation. There's definitely some irony here! Companies are investing more in tech yet most of their investments are in disparate systems with "technology sprawl." That sprawl is hard to manage, expensive (all the upgrades and maintenance costs), and equally frustrating for employees and the IT pros asked to manage that unwieldy ecosystem. For employees, this sprawl makes jobs harder across the board. Switch to one application for one task, then close out and move to a different one for the next task. Meanwhile, 50% of IT pros charged with consolidating the sprawl are overwhelmed at the thought of taking it on. Many years I ago I wrote about the idea of creating a "front door" at work where employees can log into a single platform to get work done. Not quite there yet...but I'm still hopeful! It’s clear that organizations need to get a grip on tech sprawl before costs and frustrations spiral and productivity grinds to a halt. More on that tech sprawl and research from Quickbase here: https://lnkd.in/gJDV4TxU

Let’s face it: managing construction projects, especially in the utilities sector, can feel like a wild ride. 🚧 You’re juggling timelines, keeping track of contractors, and making sure everything runs smoothly across multiple sites. For Conexon, LLC, a leader in rural fiber network services, this wasn’t just a challenge; it was their daily grind. Their mission? To connect rural communities to high-speed fiber, fast and efficiently. ✅ They needed a way to cut through the chaos, streamline their processes, and save time and money. And that’s where Quickbase came in. Here’s how Quickbase helped Conexon take control of their projects and potentially save millions. https://lnkd.in/e2A8d5Nc

CESMII Annual members meeting - 🧐My recap from a new member perspective. The data disparity issues in manufacturing has reached a critical tipping point. As a manufacturing segment, we are no longer seeing the gains in productivity, safety and quality due in part to the data interoperability issues. 1. The CESMII Community is superb and focused on advancing manufacturing and solving major challenges, despite being competitors. As a previous end customer of most of the products represented in the workshop, I am grateful for the alignment and support each had for each other. 👍 2. One Challenge discussed is the interoperability issue between machine, automation and the OT layers. In simple terms, a standard profile defining an object (machine, robot, etc…) did not exist. Everyone has their own proprietary way of defining an object. This makes it difficult to move data freely or allowAI or machine learning to work as it should. 🤯 3. The future is bright!! The community published agreed upon Smart Manufacturing Profiles and a standard library. In addition, CESMII kicked off an RFC for an open API, the next challenge to resolve. 💯 Quickbase is a proud new member of CESMII and was honored to demonstrate our capability to solve a portion of the problem. It takes a village to enable manufacturing for the future. Glad to be a part of this. 🙏
