Meet Anna Makarudze, one of the Hidden Figures of Python. Anna is a Software Engineer based in Harare. She has been working as the Django Girls Foundation Fundraising Coordinator since June 2017. Since August 2020 she became the lead maintainer of the Django Girls website and resources and one of the members of the Board of Trustees for Django Girls Foundation. Anna is a former Django Software Foundation board member, where she served for 5 years from 2018 to 2022 in the roles of Director, Vice President and President. Organizer of PyCon Zimbabwe 2016/2017, DjangoCon Europe 2018, DjangoCon Africa 2023 and several Django Girls events in Harare, Masvingo, Heidelberg and Zanzibar. She has also spoken at many Python conferences and DjangoCons around the world. First we trace the pattern on a white cloth using pencil. Then we apply the wax onto the cloth to the traced pattern using a special tool called "canting". We also used a stamp to apply the pattern to the cloth. The cloth is then dyed in indigo blue and the was washed off revealing the pattern. Georgi made a PyLadies logo in batik. Cheuk made the PSF's logo in batik. Mariatta made the PyPodcats logo in batik.
