"Any efforts toward efficiency run the risk of intensifying the unpaid work that keeps our existing world running." Andrew Flachs, associate professor of #anthropology, challenges the newly proposed Department of Government Efficiency as far from ideal in this opinion piece for The Hill. He re-introduces the "Jevons Paradox", a theory stating: "The more efficiently we do something, the more of it we tend to do." "Faith embodied: a tattooed individual from medieval Ghazali" co-authored by Kari A. Guilbault, PhD Candidate in #Anthropology, following her discovery of the "Christ" tattoo in October 2023, was published in Antiquity through Cambridge University Press. "It is rare to find how religious someone is," Guilbault told the College of Liberal Arts. "Because we have the skeletonized individual, we're able to know more about that person and, potentially, what religion meant to them versus an imposed state-sponsored practice."
