🚨The lifeline for Product Management Challenges🚨

About us

Product Ambulance is a curated safe space in which we enable product professionals to amplify product management's positive impact and value out in the wild. Click at the top of our LinkedIn page to answer a few questions and join us 👆 📜 Our Manifesto | The map is not the territory. As product managers, you read the books, heard the talks, and aced the courses. Awesome! Yet, that inspiring map in your hands doesn't match the wild terrain you’re facing in your company. Not only are you navigating environments where far-from-perfect companies struggle to efficiently create and capture customer value. You're also on a quest to find a more structured, navigable path and get to a better place. This isn't just a hiccup in your career path. It's a real obstacle to making an impact in your companies. The clock's ticking, work is piling up – you've got to figure it out, and fast. And you can only start where you actually are. Now what? The Product Ambulance is here to help you thrive in your not-so-ideal world. Dishing out real, boots-on-the-ground guidance and support from folks who are on the field, hands dirty, sweating it out – just as yourself. We’re in this mess together. We are going to make it work.

  • A couple of weeks ago, our co-organizer✨Sascha Brossmann shared an in-depth talk at POPS Global with Antonia Landi in Berlin: "Guerrilla Org Design"—on the topic of transforming an organisation from the ground up, co-created by a group of six people and with a ton of research behind it. Everyone absolutely loved it— which means we knew more people needed to hear it. So Antonia and ✨Sascha are making it happen! As a special collaboration between POPS Global and Product Ambulance, we're getting together on December 12th for an evening of unfiltered nerdiness. Prepare yourselves, because we're about to go DEEP. Register for the event below 👇 See you there!

Case study red flags 🚩: ▶️ Huge time commitment (more than 8 hours) ▶️ No compensation for extensive work ▶️ Focusing only on tech skills, no people skills ▶️ One-size-fits-all approach ▶️ Solving real company problems (unpaid work) Case study green flags ✅: ▶️ Reasonable time (4-8 hours) ▶️ Paid if more than 4-8 hours ▶️ Balanced tech and social skills focus ▶️ Flexible formats ▶️ Uses fictional scenarios ▶️ Fair evaluation criteria ▶️ Reduces bias (blind structured reviews) ▶️ Provides feedback to all What do you think? Did we miss some? • We’ve all seen some of it in action: Big initiatives with NO de-risking, strong supporting arguments, or clear outcomes. Check ✅ Playing along with risky bets, putting on a “positive attitude” just to get buy-in. Check ✅ Incomprehensible promotions despite burning through people and budgets. Check ✅ Politics that impede or obstruct necessary work; a plethora of incoherent activities despite all your well-intended OKRs. Check ✅ – you name it. Worst of all, there seems to be no escape route – it’s happening everywhere. Now what can we do about it without resigning to cynicism? First, secure your invite to our next Product Ambulance session! 🤗 🗓️ Save The Date: Monday, October 14 ⏰ Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (CET) 🔍 Topic: Balancing Decision-Making with Organizational Dynamics And venture with us into the perils of organisational dynamics and their often puzzling impact on decisions, risk management, and team operations. What to expect: 🧠 Practical approaches to create sober situational awareness and guide your actions. You'll learn how to identify, map, and understand the dynamics in your organization. 🎭 Models and strategies to handle tensions between decision-making and organisational dynamics more gracefully with less frustration. 🤝 Interactive discussion and co-creation with hand-picked peers. Amongst others we'll be joined by John Cutler and Heather Stephens, contributing a wealth of insights. And of course, your friendly co-organisers, ✨Sascha and Matei.   🔒 Limited Spots Available! Register now via the link in the comments to secure your seat (max 12 participants). #productmanagement #organisationaldynamics #decisionmaking

  • How do you feel about Product Case studies? Does anyone actually love ‘em? Or does everyone hate ‘em? Our Product Ambulance crew had mixed feelings! There are pros and cons. But what’s for sure is that they are part of the hiring process 9 times out of 10 for Product roles. 👍 Pros: Tests real skills, shows problem-solving approach 👎 Cons: Time-consuming, potential for bias, may not reflect real work The verdict of our last peer-to-peer session? A solid documents that highlight how to use it wisely and mix it with other methods for best results! What's your experience with case studies? Share below! Give us a like and a Follow to support us! • Poor hiring processes are accounting for 80% of the bad hire 😱 For our last session, we decided to assemble our Product Ambulance experts and focus on case studies and hiring processes for Product people! So what hiring knowledge bombs did our experts drop? 💣 Relevant past experiences ≠ Candidates' future success 💣 Structured skill-focused interviews > Resumes for predicting success And what can we do? ✅ Balance functional AND social skills assessments with behavioural/situational questions ✅ Use real-world scenarios, not textbook problems ✅ Focus on problem-solving approach, not just conclusions There's more where that came from and we’ll keep sharing!
