I first read the Netflix culture deck 5 years ago. Many of us have heard about their ideologies, how they achieved success, and have read Reed and Patty's books. When one goes deeper into their culture, one realizes how different it really is!
Advice: If you still haven't read the Netflix culture deck / code - then please do it :) Its a 1-2 pager on their website in the Careers section.
The point: Bullet points or sentences are good, but if you are a CEO, explain your culture like it is written by Netflix.
Think deeper within, and write down each detail. Talk about why folks would like to work with your org and why they might not. Talk which behaviours work, and which perhaps don't.
Nothing better about culture than plain vanilla honesty :-)

It's ironic, isn't it?
Organizations miss out on growth, profitability, and talent retention simply because their culture doesn't align with their business strategy.
Even the most robust People processes can fall short when there's a disconnect.
Take recruitment, for example. Despite significant effort, confidence in new hires’ culture fit remains low. As a result, voluntary exits and terminations peak within the first six months.
And for those who stay, 30-40% are disengaged, unproductive, or worse, merely going through the motions.
The solution?
Intentional culture design that aligns seamlessly with business strategy.
It's crucial to define, document, and embed this culture across all people processes, ensuring a shared understanding throughout the organization.
Pro Orgs offers the world’s first and only comprehensive framework to achieve this alignment.

So, how are your Business Strategy and Organizational Culture dancing together?
Are they moving in sync or stepping on each other’s toes?

Innovating Smart Talent Solutions for Organizations with a Highly Curated Collective of Fractional HR, Transformation, Talent Management, Organizational & Coaching Experts Making a Difference in the Way Work Happens Now
The latest Leadership Confidence Index by Russell Reynolds Associates reveals a concerning trend: Leaders' confidence in their executive teams hits a three-year low. CEOs are increasingly focused on ensuring their top teams possess the necessary skills to drive business growth, make sound decisions, and address current and emerging challenges. Of particular concern are the behavior and culture within these leadership groups.
According to the report, only 67% of CEOs believe their leadership teams exemplify the desired culture and behaviors. Furthermore, just 67% feel their executive team adeptly embraces change, while only 69% agree on the team's effectiveness in working cohesively. Our leaders need support, and our organizations need us to take action.
If you're working to address these challenges or know you should be, let's discuss how Gig Talent coaches and consultants can create a customized solution to help enhance your Executive Leadership Team (ELT) success. Partnering with organizations on this journey is one of our favorite things to do.
Great leaders don't manage; they COACH.
Here's 10 things they know about coaching:
Leadership is not about barking orders from above.
Great leaders prefer being coaches, not bosses.
And their teams feel it - every day.
Do you agree?
