2025 Nonprofit Venture Spotlight: Corner to Corner, a nonprofit tackling economic inequity by providing opportunities for young creators and early-stage entrepreneurs in low-income areas. Corner to Corner co-creates economic participation and growth launching and growing underestimated entrepreneurs from historically low-income neighborhoods in Nashville, TN. Their flagship 10-week program equips entrepreneurs with creative ongoing programs and mentorship opportunities with a vision of ending multigenerational poverty. Corner to Corner practices the ORIs of Entrepreneurship & Capital For Upward Mobility and The Restoration of Wealth, Truth, and Power to African-Americans. Executive Director Shana Berkeley and Co-Founder Will Acuff have worked together to launch more than 1,200 small businesses from historically low-income neighborhoods. Shana holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her JD from Belmont University, and she practiced law prior to joining Corner to Corner. Will has been dedicated to seeing neighbors experience spiritual and economic transformation grounded in the transforming love of God. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and holds a master’s degree in biblical studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. 2025 Nonprofit Venture Spotlight: Clean Start Africa, a transformative social enterprise that supports formerly incarcerated women in Kenya as they rebuild their lives after imprisonment. Clean Start works with women and children impacted by the criminal justice system by restoring hope, dignity, and self-confidence in order to break cycles of poverty, crime, and recidivism. The organization mobilizes communities and stakeholders to support the rights and well-being of these women with employment opportunities, economic independence, and comprehensive emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial support for trauma healing. With their holistic approach that reimagines justice, Clean Start embodies two ORIs: Entrepreneurship & Capital for Upward Mobility and Infrastructure Building in Developing Economies. Founder & CEO Teresa Njoroge founded Clean Start in January 2015 after she was wrongly imprisoned. Since then, she has steered socioeconomic transformation and social justice reforms in Kenya and across the African continent through strategic leadership.
