The word is out! We’re grateful and creatively inspired to partner with world-renowned architecture & design firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R) — a leader known for their visionary approach to architecture, responsible for numerous iconic projects including the High Line and MoMA in New York, The Broad in Los Angeles, and the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs. As our partner in our mission to heal the planet with microorganisms, DS+R’s longstanding commitment to innovation and sustainability will incorporate potential uses for Pneuma’s green materials into various projects both indoor & outdoor, providing a natural alternative to man-made synthetics.

That’s a wrap! After 10 intense days between Tokyo and Osaka, our Japan adventure comes to an end. We are extremely proud, happy and thankful to Plug and Play Japan for making this event possible! 🇯🇵 Our CEO Spas Kerimov has been able to participate and present our OXYA materials at 5 pitch events, meeting more than 500 very selected attendees. Besides the official events, we had a dozen business meetings scheduled by #PNPJ with corporations in the construction and chemical industries, material manufacturers and hotel chains. Thank you Hayata Okubo, Maia Godonoga (Dr. Sc.) and Narumi Arai and to the whole PNP for your warm hospitality and for making this series of events possible.

Another day in Tokyo, our CEO Spas Kerimov is presenting Pneuma and OXYA materials to the audience of the Climate Tech Pitch Event at Tokyo Innovation Base as part of Plug and Play Japan events 🇯🇵 We introduced biological carbon-capturing and living material alternatives on the climate-tech scene in Tokyo, where many #climate initiatives are initiated to reduce companies’ carbon footprint. Our unique perspective received positive feedback and excitement for a more high-tech but #sustainable future.

Our founder and CEO Spas Kerimov is presenting Pneuma and OXYA materials at Startup Showcase Tokyo among other 60 exciting startups selected by Plug and Play Japan 🇯🇵 The Deeptech vertical was full of cutting-edge solutions: #sustainable material alternatives, nanomaterials, enzyme stabilizers, new strains and proteins for the bioeconomy, etc. Among them, we introduced our approach to utilize photosynthesis in material form that promotes biological carbon-capturing and provides a fully natural and circular direct-air-capturing alternative.

Konnichiwa from Japan! 🇯🇵 We are extremely proud and happy to share with you that we were selected as one of the 10th Deeptech startups for this year's cohort of Plug and Play Japan (PNPJ). PNPJ is one of the most active and future-tech-oriented branches of Plug and Play. And as part of the biggest #startup accelerator in the world, it bridges Japan with companies worldwide. Sharing our latest collaboration with the italian designer Piero D’Angelo as well as our latest batch of OXYA™ materials at “Il giardino delle idee” by Vanity Fair Italia during Milan Design Week. The week before last at the Biofabricate summit in Paris, we had a simple task - to present OXYA. 📌 Pneuma’s OXYA series are engineered living everyday materials that can capture carbon through active photosynthesis. Materials that host millions of living microalgae cells. The goal - to democratise carbon capture and bring life to the daily objects that surround us.   At Fondacion Fiminco we were able to demonstrate our bioengineered fibers and biofilms, as well as the Pneuma living dress - a collaboration with the talented designer Piero D'Angelo, with whom we are share the same passion for restoring a symbiotic relationship with our planet. Together we provoked questions and fantasies for next generation of materials and objects. Materials with that live and breathe, just like us. Our exhibit produced many curious smiles, interesting questions and a couple of puzzled looks, all of which motivated our team even further. Biofabricate was an important milestone for the company and sharing the space some of the most impressive innovators in the field was both humbling and inspiring. This cultivated a strong sense of hope for the materials industry, as well as push towards concepts that are more disruptive and visionary than ever before. Thank you to the Biofabricate team for facilitating and nurturing this space where science, design, art and business collide, pushing the boundaries of conscious behaviour.
