Understand that this was not accomplished by just a simple thought. A lot of research, blood, sweat, energy, tears, and calculations would have been put in place for this to be executed properly. So while you may think this is a simple ad and may not be an expensive cost for the brand, this very marketing/branding action may have cost a whole lot.

Out for an evening run around my local town 🏃🏼♀️ I spotted this bus ad from Uber. This is it. No visual creative. No messaging. No call to action. No movement. Just their logo, set against a plain black background on a screen. What makes this brilliant isn’t what’s on the ad—it’s the placement and the insight behind it. ⚡️The insight that anyone waiting for a bus would much rather travel in a private taxi. ⚡️The insight that buses in the UK are notoriously unreliable. And how best to target their audience right at the height of their frustration when a bus is late or doesn’t show up at all (which, let’s face it, happens often). ⚡️The insight to trust that the person standing at that bus stop already knows their brand and might even download or use the app on the spot. I love the boldness and confidence of this approach. That said, adding a subtle CTA or a single clever line could’ve sealed the deal, making it truly foolproof. But even without it, this ad captures the magic of knowing exactly where and when to show up in your audience’s moment of need. 👏🏻
