About us
The Partnership for Inclusive Innovation (Partnership) is a public-private partnership that launched in 2020 to lead coordinated, statewide efforts to position Georgia as the Technology Capital of the East Coast. Dedicated to advancing innovation, opportunity, and shared economic success across the state, the organization’s focus on community research, student engagement, and pilot programs is a powerful combination that establishes Georgia as a living lab for inclusive innovation. Under the guidance of board chair G.P. Bud Peterson and executive director Debra Lam, the Partnership seeks to help foster access, growth, entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the state.

Finding skilled talent is one of today’s biggest challenges for companies, while many job seekers struggle to find the right fit. The Partnership for Inclusive Innovation is addressing this gap through our PIN Fellowship program—a unique initiative designed to identify and empower the next generation of innovative leaders across Georgia and the Southeast. This rotational program places early-career professionals in two six-month paid rotations within key industries like AI manufacturing, IT/cybersecurity, cleantech, fintech and supply chain. Fellows engage in impactful projects that advance innovation and technology, while building bridges across the public, private and civic sectors. Beyond hands-on experience, Fellows benefit from mentorship, career development training, site visits and guest speakers, equipping them with the tools to navigate their careers and contribute meaningfully to their fields. Our recent Fellows have worked with incredible organizations like Microsoft, Cox Enterprises, Park Pride, the Georgia Water Coalition and the Atlanta Beltline. Past Fellows have partnered with Michelin, Fulton County and more—all securing meaningful roles post-program. We’re proud to be shaping the workforce of the future. Are you ready to join us in empowering the next generation of leaders? Applications open January 15th! #InclusiveInnovation #WorkforceDevelopment #Leadership #CareerGrowth

Congratulations to our friends in Montgomery! The City of Montgomery and Montgomery County just celebrated the opening of the new Small Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS), a small business assistance program. We had the pleasure of getting to work with the SBOSS team through the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation Leaders Program and are delighted to follow their continued success. Congratulations Darryl Washington, MPPM, Jennifer Anderson, Dr. C. Nichole Thompson and Kenneth Penn, CPA, IMAA! #businessinnovation #inclusiveeconomicdevelopment #smallbusiness
After years of planning, securing funding and nurturing strategic partnerships, the City of Montgomery and Montgomery County held the ribbon cutting for the new Small Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS). It is in the heart of the new Main Street MGM business district. Kudos to my primary partner in this endeavor, Jennifer Anderson, for her leadership, dedication, and resourcefulness. This idea went from sketches on a whiteboard to a state-of-the-art safe space for small businesses. Special thanks to Dr. C. Nichole Thompson and Kenneth Penn, CPA, IMAA, for blowing away the competition with their response to our RFP. I’m super blessed to work with such an incredible group. Small Businesses and nonprofits in Montgomery will be stronger and more productive due to this new innovative business assistance program. #SBOSS #AcessMontgomery #MainStreetMontgomery

At the Partnership for Inclusive Innovation, we are committed to advancing solutions that create equitable opportunities for all. This week, we’re excited to highlight two transformative initiatives: 🔹 Enhancing Road Safety with AI in Forsyth County – A project using smartphone-based AI to improve road safety, reduce crashes, and save lives in Forsyth County, Georgia. This innovative approach not only enhances safety but also promotes cost-effective solutions in high-risk areas. 🔹 AI Solutions for Safer Pesticide Use in Cotton Farming – With AI-driven pest detection, this project in Millen, Georgia, helps farmers minimize pesticide use, protect the environment and ensure public health. The collaboration with Georgia Southern University and local partners demonstrates the power of technology in sustainable agriculture. These projects reflect our belief that innovation should be inclusive, sustainable and accessible. Together, we can create a future where everyone has the tools and opportunities to thrive.
