Today Pharr EMS announced new technology to better serve patients. Blood transfusions and ultrasounds are now available during en route care. These critical advancements improve patient outcomes in emergencies by providing blood to trauma patients even before they arrive to the hospital. Ultrasounds can detect internal bleeding and provide a sonogram for pregnant women in need. Pharr EMS is proud to be the only city-based provider in the RGV to offer these services. Thank you to the Pharr City Commission and our partners for helping us bring these advancements to the city!

It’s official! DHR Health is set to open a Behavioral Hospital in the great City of Pharr! 🏥 The facility will provide essential care for residents of the Rio Grande Valley suffering from critical mental health. 🧠 Thank you DHR Health for this wonderful partnership!

This morning in Pharr, officials broke ground on a new state-of-the-art DHR Health Behavioral Health Hospital, set to open in 2026. This 100-bed facility, funded by Texas’s $2.1 billion mental health investment, will provide essential care for the Rio Grande Valley and help address the region's critical mental health needs.
